Rhyming and Building: The R&B of Chevrolet Vehicles - GMS3 - Faces of GM
At General Motors the acronym GMS stands for Global Manufacturing System. Three assembly line workers have adapted that acronym for their musical name, GMS3. Dwayne Hawkins from the Fairfax, Kan., Assembly Plant along with Tremaine Stephens and Terrence Thomas from the Arlington, Texas, Assembly Plant have put together a "neo-soul, R&B" musical act. Recently they brought their act to the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant — where the new 2014 Chevrolet Impala is built — and performed their Impala anthem, "I Like Your Style." Check out the video to see GMS3 in action.

2014 Chevrolet Spark EV Review and Road Test
Check out my other videos! http://vid.io/xqoB Who is Alex? Find out here! http://vid.io/xqoF When GM said their new EV cranked out more torque than the standard Tesla Model S or a Ferrari 458 Italia, my interest was piqued. When they said their new EV was a front wheel drive car, I scratched my head. When they said it was none other than the Spark, aka the Daewoo Matiz Creative, I knew I needed to see what GM's first pure-electric vehicle since the ill-fated EV1 was all about. The Spark EV starts its life in Changwon, South Korea where gasoline and electric sparks are built by GM Korea. The heart of the Spark however comes from America. GM is building the permanent magnet motors in Maryland and rather than using LG batteries made in Korea, like the Chevy Volt, American-made batteries courtesy of B456 (formerly A123). (No, I'm not kidding.) Instead of shipping cars sans drivetrain, GM ships batteries and drivetrain to Korea, then they ship the completed car back to the USA. Why does the Spark EV exist? Because of my home state of California of course. The California Air Resources Board has mandated that Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, GM and Chrysler make a total of 7,500 zero emissions vehicles by 2014 and 25,000 by 2017. This just the start of the estimated 270,000 yearly production that will be required in 2025. As with the gasoline version, the front seats are flat, firmly padded and offer little lumbar support. The hard plastics on the doors make for an uncomfortable place to rest your elbow but thankfully there is a padded armrest in the center for the driver only. This isn't unusual for compact cars, but electrification makes for strange bedfellows and the Leaf, Focus EV and Fiat 500e are direct competition that all offer more driver and passenger comfort. Because of the Spark's narrow width the Chevy is a strict four-seater putting it on par with the 500e but one passenger behind the Fit, Leaf and Focus. It was surprisingly easy to put four tall adults in the Spark, a task that is more difficult in the considerably larger Focus because of its sloping roof-line. Still, passengers will be more comfortable in the Honda Fit which offers a bit more room for four, seating for five and more headroom all the way around. Despite the Leaf's rear seat numbers being average, because of the way the seating position in the Leaf most people will find the Nissan roomier. As with most gas to EV conversions, the Spark loses a bit of cargo volume in the process dropping 2 cubes to 9.6 cubic feet of cargo space. That's slightly larger than the 500e but a long way from the Leaf's spacious 24 cubic foot booty. Unlike the Fiat 500e however, GM chose not encroach on passenger footwell space for battery storage.

2013 Chevrolet Spark 2LT Test Drive & Urban City Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/chevrolet/spark/2013/?id=32972 Last year Chevrolet debuted the Sonic subcompact car to compete with the likes of the Mazda2, Toyota Yaris, and Hyundai Accent just to name a few. Well for the 2013 model year, Chevy has gone even smaller with the introduction of the 2013 Chevrolet Spark which is one of the only city cars on sale here in America. The urban vehicle segment may not be that big just yet; but over in Europe, these tiny cars are a big hit and Chevy is hoping that trend will catch on here. The Spark is one of the smallest cars on the market competing against the likes of the Smart Fortwo and the Scion iQ. The 2013 Chevy Spark has a low base price of $12,185. Little cars have not yet quite caught on here in the U.S. But things are changing and Automakers are taking notice; case in point: the 2013 Chevy Spark. This is General Motors first entry into this ultra-mini segment. The bright Jalapeno Metallic Green paint on the test vehicle looks pretty good and helps the Spark really stand out. For such a small car, the Spark has a whole lot of style going on. Up front is the very familiar family face that can be seen on other Chevrolet models, and large angular headlights are well integrated, and the aluminum trim pieces look great. Along the sides the 15-inch rims look perfect, the hatchback design gives you a very European feel, and integrated roof spoiler is nicely suited for this city car. City cars are small in stature and hold fuel economy importance above overall power. So it should come as no surprise that the 2013 Chevrolet Spark has a small 1.2 liter 4-cylinder engine capable of 84 horsepower and 83 lb-ft. of torque. The Spark comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Fuel Economy is 32 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway. Inside the drivers space is a great place to be. The ergonomics are cleverly laid out. There are some neat tricks going on throughout the cabin. One example is the gauge cluster that is reminiscent of a motorcycle and adjusts with the steering wheel. The command deck is a 7-inch screen with the Chevy MyLink system which looks very good. The 2013 Chevrolet Spark is a very easy to drive car. There are a lot of standard features that adds great value to an already low priced car. There are a few other cars in this niche but the Spark offers so much more car at this price point. 2013 Chevrolet Spark
Consumers might shy away from Chevy's tiny Spark because of its compact dimensions (and awful pink color, in our case), but looks are deceiving, says Cars.com reviewer David Thomas. The Spark is roomier than it looks and its small four-cylinder engine is also peppier than expected. The Spark is at home in the city, but it's not very comfortable on the highway, where the ride really suffers, Thomas says.

Help us grow so we can bring you more videos! Like us on Facebook @ http://www.Facebook.com/2Redline Buyers who feel a traditional sub-compact vehicle is too big can look at a vehicle in the micro-class. Meet the 2013 Chevrolet Spark, slotting below the larger Sonic, it competes head on with the 2-door only Smart Fortwo, Fiat 500, and Scion iQ. It's diminutive size, low price, and extra back doors make it perfect as a city car. Those of you who need a vehicle to take them on the open road as well, should just stick with a sub-compact offering for similar money.

SUBSCRIBE NOW http://www.youtube.com/autovideobroadcast WEBSITE http://autovideobroadcast.com/ The 2014 Chevrolet Spark is a Top Safety Pick in its first year of eligibility, and is the only vehicle in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety minicar segment to earn the rating in 2014 model year testing. Spark achieved highest possible "good" scores in the IIHS's moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints tests, and scored an "acceptable" in IIHS's new small overlap test, designed to replicate what happens when the front corner of a vehicle strikes another vehicle or an object like a tree or a utility pole. "Spark's impressive performance in IIHS's most stringent test yet demonstrates the intensive efforts of our global safety team to deliver big safety in a small package," said Gay Kent, General Motors general director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness. "Spark's safety structure makes extensive use of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steels and its robust passenger protection package includes 10 standard air bags."
