2013 Ford Fusion Titanium EcoBoost
The new Fusion is expected to deliver best-in-class fuel economy across customers' choice of gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid sub-segments, following through with the commitment by Ford to be the fuel-efficiency leader -- or among the leaders -- with each new model brought to market. Fusion brings the broadest selection of fuel-efficient powertrains in the midsize car segment. It offers hybrid and plug-in hybrid alternatives, a pair of EcoBoost™ four-cylinder engines, a normally aspirated four-cylinder engine, an automatic start stop system to shut off the engine at stationary idle, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive applications, and a choice between automatic and manually shifted six-speed transmissions. The 1.6-liter EcoBoost is expected to deliver best-in-class four-cylinder non-hybrid fuel efficiency of 26 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine -- paired with a paddle-shifted six-speed SelectShift Automatic™ transmission, available 19-inch wheels and tires, and all-wheel drive with the ability to send additional torque to the rear -- is the Fusion performance option. The Fusion Hybrid -- 2010 North American Car of the Year -- continues to innovate and evolve with all-new lithium-ion batteries that save weight and generate more power than previous nickel-metal hydride batteries, while raising maximum speed under electric-only power from 47 mph to 62 mph. Fusion Hybrid also features an all-new 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine, significantly downsized from the previous 2.5-liter unit while maintaining performance standards. This innovative powertrain is anticipated to deliver best-in-class fuel economy of 47 mpg in city driving and 44 mpg on the highway. Fusion Hybrid fuel economy stands to outperform the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid by 4 mpg city and 5 mpg highway and the 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid by 12 mpg and 4 mpg, respectively. Topping the fuel-efficiency ladder is the Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid, aiming to be the most fuel-efficient midsize car in the world. Arriving this fall, Fusion Energi is anticipated to deliver more than 100 MPGe, a mile per gallon equivalency metric for electrified vehicles. This is 8 MPGe more than the Chevrolet Volt and 13 MPGe more than the projected efficiency of the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid model. The next-generation Fusion 1.6-liter is the first automatic-transmission Ford product offered with an automatic start stop system. It shuts off engine power smoothly when the car is stopped and seamlessly restarts as the driver releases the brake pedal, helping Fusion to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by approximately 3.5 percent.

2014 Ford Fusion SE Test Drive Video Review w/ 1.5 Liter EcoBoost Engine Option
http://www.autobytel.com/ford/fusion/2014/?id=32972 The SE is the most popular version of the Fusion. Under the hood is an optional $794 1.5 liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine that makes 181 horsepower and 185 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is 23 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. This is a terrific little motor that gets the car moving. Most people are not going to say the car is underpowered. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic. On the inside the SE model comes with power adjustable seats and lots of modern technology. There are 2 TFT screens set in the gauge cluster. The MyFord Touch navigation and infotainment system is clean and more responsive than before. The Ford Fusion is a pretty terrific car. The hybrid model might be a better option for fuel economy, or upgrade to the large 2.0 liter EcoBoost for better performance. Still though, this SE model tested here represents a great value. Ford thinks they have the answer in the 2014 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid sedan. Can jamming bigger battery and a gasoline/electric drivetrain behind Ford's sexy grille continue the love affair the press has had with Ford's world-car? More importantly, can this Ford hybrid live up to its EPA numbers? Let's find out. Exterior The new Fusion is as striking as the old one was bland. Up front we have an Aston-Martin inspired grille, angry headlamps and a tastefully reserved quantity of chrome. Out back we have a less daring rear end that some of my friends thought looked "unfinished" as if Ford just cut the sausage to the desired length. The stubby tail makes parallel parking a bit easier since it's easy to know where your Fusion ends but I suspect rear-end repairs will be more costly than sedans with a more traditional bumper protrusion. The aggressive looks from the Optima and Fusion are refreshing in a segment full of humdrum slab sides and unrestrained chrome bling. I find the new Accord elegant in a 1990s Lexus sort of way, but the large green house screams family sedan. Toyota seems to have mated an edgy nose with refrigerator flat door panels to create a Camry that's far from ugly but also far from sexy. Meanwhile VW's Passat TDI strikes a very conservative pose with a large horizontal grille and segment-standard slab sides. Interior The new Fusion's cabin has a level of refinement normally associated with European brands, and that makes sense since our Fusion is their Mondeo. The fit and finish in our tester was excellent with perfect seams and substantial feeling controls. While the new tiller doesn't get soft split-grain leather like the new Accord, Ford's new button arrangements are easier to use, easier to reach and feel better built than the wheel in the C-MAX and Escape. Like other Fusion models, most Hybrids sitting on the lot will look as if they were carved out of a single piece of black plastic. Selecting the tan cloth or the [seemingly] rare tan leather interior helps the interior feel warmer but there's no way to avoid the large expanse of black that is the dashboard, carpet and large portion of the doors. If you love tan, keep in mind the Titanium comes only in black. 2013 Ford Fusion exposed at the Chicago Auto Show
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2013 Ford Fusion is a stunning car no matter what side you look at. Think of it as a sort of hybrid design that's half Aston Martin and half Jaguar. As you may recall both Aston Martin and Jaguar are two car companies that not too long ago belong to the Ford family of cars. The newFord Fusion will come in several different models including a plug-in Hybrid that's bound to be popular is gas prices spike. Check out this first look at the newest generation of Ford's mid-sized family car from this year's Chicago Auto Show.

2013 Ford Fusion First Drive & Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2013 Ford Fusion (and the 2013 Ford Mondeo) looks like the gorgeous love child of a Aston Martin and Jaguar. Or perhaps it resembles a prototype car that's designed for the spot lights of the Auto Show...a prototype that will never get built. Instead, the 2013 Fusion will be coming to a Ford dealership near you this fall. In this first drive video review we got to spend a few hours in the Fusion in the hills above Malibu and Santa Monica, California. Of course the question that we wanted to answer is a simple one....does the new 2013 Ford Fusion drive a good as it looks? Check out this TFLcar first drive review to find out.
