Regular Car Reviews: 1986 Buick Grand National
Drive a Grand National for long enough, and you'll find yourself in a fight
outside a pub with a mustache in a 77 Chevette. But you'll win every time,
because you have the righteousness of choice on your side. Maybe your left
hook isn't as strong, and your haymaker isn't as wild, but dammit, you have
taste. And that counts for something. An ass-kicking something. You bang
like a champ because you don't know when the next time will be. And that
kind of dedication means you'll never be un-bung again.
Your Summit Girl will hate that she let you go, because she'll see you in
a Grand National, and she'll say, “You know what? He's driving automatic,
but that's a Man for All Seasons right there.” And she'll know, because
she's dating a Lion In Winter. A feckless, limp-dicked, do-nothing shell of
a man who doesn't know what to do with his free time in the NFL off season.
-It's everything right and good, and a little bit off, with the world. It's
the bitter taste of a smoker's nicotine kiss, and the welcoming, cushiony
pocket of her vagina. You're home now. You're slopping around in the
primordial ooze. The Grand National loosens the pickle jar of human
goodness. It takes you back to a past that's irretrievably but eternally
present, just on the edges of your consciousness, like all good things.
Capable of being called up on a drunken night. Because sometimes, you just
get drunk, and sometimes you start thinking about where you come from, and
sometimes you call your mom just to hear her voice. And when she asks why
you called, you just say, “I have a missed call from you. But maybe it's
old. My phone doesn't say.” You both know it's bull, but you both let it
go, because you're a grown man, and you can't just say, “I needed to hear
you, mom. I was in a Grand National today, and I can see it all. Stretched
out in front of me like it happened yesterday. Playing Turtles In Time and
drinking Juicy Juice out of a triangle-shaped hole you made with a
can-opener handle.” So you bite your lower lip and put on a brave face.
The Grand National is automatic, but no one's emotions are that simple.
Super car driver idiots [NO pics, only videos]
I got bored with all the "super car crashes"-videos here on YouTube that
only contained PICTURES, CRAPPY MUSIC or/and clips of pure racing cars on
official racing events.
This compilation DOES NOT include pure racing cars on official racing
events - only real life FAILures on the STREETS, made by people with more
money than driving skills...
(Though, even the best car drivers can crash too of course.)
Notice 1: The "Dodge Ram" may not be a super car, but still it's a SRT10
with the 8.3L Viper V10 which produces 510hp. Pretty super for a pick up,
don't you think? It has more power than several of the cars in this video.
The intention with this video was to show that skills doesn't come with
Notice 2: Tire is the preferred spelling in the U.S. and Canada. Tyre is
preferred in most varieties of English outside North America. And I'm from
Sweden. So please think outside your box (country), you who claims "tyre"
is incorrect spelling.
Mustang GT 0-150mph
Just like last video flat until 130mph then uphill. It flattens out once it
starts accelerating past 135. I have timed the 0-60 in this video by hand
and am getting a 4.5-4.8 range with 100 popping up in around 12-12.5
seconds. If someone else can time it let me know.
268whp and 310tq at the time of filming with stock 3.27 gears. and Nitto
555's.(street tires not slicks)
2011 Optima SX 0-70
Brand new 2011 Kia Optima 0-70.
I timed 6.4-6.6 seconds. The exactness of YouTube says 6.8 seconds.
Camera isn't great, recorded it with my iPhone, but as far as I could tell
when I uploaded this, it's the only acceleration video on the new Optima.
Was taking it for a test drive or I would have done this a touch better!
The traction control was ON.
This is the 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder with
This was a base model SX at $26,690.
For those wondering, yes it does have true HID headlights, not just crap
projection. The door chime is exactly like the Korean spec models with more
of a jingle than a chime. The faux carbon fiber trim is not bad looking,
for fake trim lol. The sport suspension is firm, but not hard. Reminds of
the suspension on a Lexus IS, soft enough to kill the bumps, but firm
enough to take a corner.
Pardon the cut up video of the exterior, trying not to get the dealer plate
If you haven't driven it, you will be highly impressed. I've driven almost
everything in this price range now and it truly stands above everything
