The looks are amazing, and the power too! Still too bad BMW didn't keep the V10 engines. Nevertheless.. this smaller engine is more powerfull and the shifting is incredibly fast! The Black Series idea seems to be catching on at Mercedes-Benz. Between 2006 and 2011, the company rolled out just three rabid Black Series cars, but now, mere months after M-B announced the 2012 C63 Black Series, we have proof that that work on AMG's next super-ultra-high-performance product is well underway. Spotted on the Nürburgring wearing matte-black paint, purposeful fender extensions, and a wider front fascia, this SLS is AMG's response to the likes of the Audi R8 GT and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale. With bedplate construction and dry-sump lubrication, the SLS's M159 naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V-8 is a technological marvel. It's rated at 563 hp and 479 lb-ft in standard trim, but will make well over 600 hp—perhaps as much as 650—in the Black Series. Mercedes will achieve this not with forced induction, but with internal tweaks. Power will be channeled to the rear wheels through a strengthened version of the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission serving in the regular car. According to Autocar magazine, the new SLC AMG, as top Mercedes execs refer to it, is another high-tech 2-seater with a front-mounted V8 engine and it's aimed at the vaunted rear-engine Porsche 911. Significantly, the project was recently "granted an official codename--traditionally the first step towards intensive development and a production future." The British weekly goes on to note that Mercedes is eyeing an introduction for sometime in calendar 2014--which could mean a 2015-model U.S. debut--and a base price of some $120,000 at current exchange rates, fully a third less than that of the SLS coupe. Like its big brother, the SLC will launch as a coupe, but with conventional side-hinged doors instead of swing-up "gullwings." A fabric-top convertible version is expected in 2016. Autocar correspondent Greg Kable says the 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLC AMG has been green-lighted partly because the SLS AMG has succeeded "both commercially and in terms of image-building for the rest of the [Mercedes line]. A more-important reason is that management sees a 911-fighter "as the next logical step [toward] a two-tier lineup of performance cars wearing the three-pointed star: those based on regular [production] models and a more exclusive group of dedicated [offerings]." This explains why the SLC departs from usual Mercedes practice in being a joint effort of the company's passenger-car development group and its AMG performance division. (The SLS was mainly AMG's work.) It also explains why the SLC is expected to blend some SLS engineering concepts with various under-skin components from the next-generation of Mercedes' SL-Class premium sporty/performance 2-seaters, now slated to bow during 2012. 2013 Aston Martin Vanquish AM310 Sounds! 1080p HD!

AM was testing the new Vanquish at the Nürburgring Nordschleife at 20th August. Aston Martin has officially announced the new DBS successor and is being called the AM310 Vanquish. When discussing this new supercar, there is one thing that must be mentioned: carbon fiber. Carbon fiber makes up 99% of its body panels, and it is also used in the AM310's chassis. It weighs in at 3700 pounds, which is much lighter that the 3750 pounds One-77 and much less that the DBS which weighs in at 3836 pounds. On the inside, the AM310 is extraordinarily spacious and elegant. There is more head room, leg room, and trunk space in the AM310 compared to the DBS. With all of this space, Aston Martin had to make sure the passengers were comfortable in their seats and that they had a luxurious interior. With an Alcantara headliner, full grain leather interior, a 1000-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system, and a very well designed center console, they did more than make the AM310 a luxurious and comfortable ride. Of course, when talking about a DBS successor we can't ignore the power under the hood. Powered by the 5.9-liter V12, the AM310 has 565 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. With an extremely light body and this powerful engine, the AM310 can go 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and reaches its top speed at around 195 mph. Unfortunately, the AM310 is only available in a six-speed automatic transmission. This is upsetting considering how fun it would be to have a manual gearbox in such a powerhouse of a car. The Aston Martin AM310 Vanquish will be available in Europe later this year and it will be available to the U.S. early 2013.
