1969 Firebird - 11 second pass
1969 Firebird 400 - standard build Pontiac 455, TRW pistons, 10:1 compression, hydraulic cam, 2400 stall converter, 3.42 gears, street tires (trim rings pulled for racing), Quadrajet carb, full Exhaust system, no traction bars (leaf springs clamped), and no Nitrous. Final pass (back in 1998) was 11.69 @ 116 mph.

1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 Rolling Burnouts
1969 Firebird Specs: -Engine Block : 1970 RAM AIR III Pontiac 400 w/ 4 bolt main. Bored .030 over. -Carburetor: Holly 750 CFM 4 barrel w/ dual feed manual secondaries. -Intake: Edelbrock Dual Plain High Torque Aluminum Intake. -Heads: Pontiac 670 Heads w/ 2.11 Intake, 1.77 Exhaust, 72cc combustion chamber.. -Pistons: TRW 11:1 compression Foraged Racing Pistons. -Cam: Wolverine 467/313 cam with twin sprocket, chain, and gears. -Transmission: 4 Speed Manual -Exhaust: Dual 2 1/4" and Pontiac's original High Performance Manifolds. -Rear End: Pontiac open differential w/ 3.08 gears. Runs on pump gas and some octane additive, still uses a points distributor set 15 degrees advanced. The engine's timing was set be ear. This car has been in at least two crashes, not the driver's fault (believe it or not) and was repaired. It has had 5 Pontiac engines in and out of it, none of which were bad engines except for a broken piston in the original engine. It has blown up 12 different Muncie four speed transmissions and a few GM Rock Crushers. Also twisted and broke the yoke off of the rear end once. This car runs low 12's on pump gas and street tires. Never has been on the Dyno.
