Those are the questions that we try to answer in the video first drive review as we test the new 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek on the beautiful Island of Oahu, Hawaii. At 8.7 inches of ground clearance the new Subaru XV Crosstrek certainly has enough ground clearance to be off-road worthy. When you combine that with Subaru's all-wheel-drive and new body cladding the parts are correct for more than just a another small commuter Crossover in an already crowded market segment. With a 2.0-liter Boxer engine that puts out 148 horsepower and 145 lb.ft. of torque and an optional 5 speed manual transmission, the Subaru XV Crosstrek isn't the fastest car in the segment. However it does get 23 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway according to the EPA. So what makes this beefed up Subaru Impreza both the best and worst of cars.
