1984 Dodge Cummins diesel crew cab dually
Bought this from Wayne Talkington, of TNT Motorsports of Fontana, CA. My dad and
I saw this truck several years ago, when John Talkington brought it out to Nebraska.
It still had the 360 v8 in it then. The Talkington's repowered it with a 1998 5.9 Cummins
diesel, CPL-1553. 727 auto trans, 3.54 rear axle. Intercooler doesn't fit with the grill, so it
was removed. They pulled a 50 ft goose neck trailer and their Kenworth dragster with
this truck. I removed the Holland 5th wheel so I can haul stuff in the bed. Our trailer uses
a receiver hitch anyway. No matter what I put behind it I never notice it. So far I have
been getting 17mpg loaded or empty. Added the pyro, Boost, oil, water and filter gauges, and
removed the mechanical fan and replaced with 2 electric ones. Being from CA, they did not
have the grid heater installed, so I had to buy one of those.

93 Dodge D250 LE 5.9L I6 Cummins Diesel
Just a quick startup and showing my weird semi stuck tach. Love the truck, never thought I'd buy a diesel, but after driving this thing for a while, I wouldn't want a gas truck again. Any ideas on why my tach might be going all weird like that? It's like I have to break it loose by jumping on the engine, and then when at freeway speeds it still gets stuck and sits at about 1500 RPM. Was going to show more of the truck but my battery was dying in the camera. Will take longer video with drive later on.

Cummins Cold Start
Quick cold start of the old 92, temp is a rather warm 14F, -10C. Truck is not plugged in, nor has it been, plug is broke off the cord... LOL Truck is currently plow duty only as the transmission is hurt badly(no 4th gear, bearings between the input shaft and mainshaft exploded.)
