2012 Porsche Panamera Test Drive & Luxury Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/porsche/panamera/2012/ The 2012 Porsche Panamera is an interesting combination of automotive delicacies. The Panamera is one part sports car, one part luxury car, one part hatchback, and one part sedan. Over the past decade, Porsche has created a few unique vehicles to target a broad range of car buyers. The Boxster is aimed at the entry level sports car enthusiast while the Cayenne is aimed at those looking for a quick SUV. But the Panamera offers 911 performance with a usable back seat. The 2012 Porsche Panamera can range from $75,200 for the base model all the way to $173,200 for the top of the line turbo S model.
The vehicle tested in this video is the base model Panamera 4 (AWD). It is powered by a lightweight and direct injected 3.6 liter V-6 engine that makes 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque. The transmission is the famous PDK twin-cutch 7-speed unit that shifts lighting quick. Fuel economy on the 2012 Porsche Panamera is 18 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway thanks in part to an auto start/stop system which shuts down the engine while the car is sitting idle. Sixty MPH flies by in 5.8 seconds and the Panamera 4 has a top speed of 159 MPH. The Panamera handles incredibly well thanks to the Porsche Traction Management system. The AWD monitors driving situations and can adjust power as need. The Panamera is equipped with Anti-Slip Regulation and Automatic Brake Differential.
Porsche Active Suspension Management is optional on the Panamera 4. This system provides electronic dampening at all 4 corners of the car thus reducing body roll and increasing handling. The system will also tighten up the setting based on the selection of modes: Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus. The rims are 18-inch alloys wrapped in sticky rubber. The 2012 Porsche Panamera comes with huge 360 mm brakes up front and 330 mm brakes out back. The calipers are six-piston units. Safety wise besides all the electronic computer controlled systems, the Panamera 4 features a full compliment of 2-stage airbags for both the front and rear passengers.
With the rear seats up the Panamera has a luggage compartment with over 15 cubic feet of storage space. But with he seats down the hatchback design allows for over 44 cubic feet of cargo room which is a large amount for this segment. And believe it or not the 2012 Porsche Panamera can tow up to 4850 lbs. The Panamera is a very efficient and powerful sports car that offers a high level of luxury and sophistication while being able to transport 4 passengers in style.

http://www.autobytel.com/porsche/911/2012/ The Porsche 911 recently got a thorough refresh for the 2012 model year. This is the 7th generation of 911 to hit the American car market. Since the 1960's Porsche has been known to produce some of the fastest sports cars the world over. But in recent years the Porsche brand as combined high end luxury with their 911 sports car. But the model reviewed here costs about $105,000.
The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.8 liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 400 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. of torque. There are 2 different transmission choices available; the first is a 7-speed manual gearbox that features a long ration 7th gear to help aid in fuel economy, and the second transmission is a 7-speed PDK is a double-clutch gearbox that can change gears within milliseconds. Fuel economy is 22 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera has some great fuel saving technologies. First with the PDK transmission, the 911 has what is called coating mode which essentially drops the RPMs to less than 1k so that the car uses less fuel. There is a start-stop system which shuts the engine off while stopped. This technology is commonly found on hybrid vehicles.
For this new refresh Porsche made many styling changes. But you can rest easy know the same basic body style that has remained over the past couple of decades is still quite evident. This 7th generation Porsche 911 Carrera is a bit wider with the wheel base getting stretched by 4 inches. With those new dimensions, the 2012 Porsche 911 now has a much better ride. At the rear of the car are newly designed taillights featuring LED lights.
As mentioned earlier, the new direction Porsche is taking is to integrate the best luxury amenities and materials as possible into their sports cars. The 911 is no exception as it benefits from great 18-way adjustable seats, an Alcantara headliner, as well as premium materials covering most surfaces in the cabin. Safety wise the Porsche 911 has a handful of front and side impact airbags that feature a two-stage impact system. The bags partially inflate in minor accidents and fully inflate for serious accidents thereby minimizing discomfort for the passengers in slower fender benders.
The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is a luxurious sports car that can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in the low 4-seconds range. The 911 has all the creature comforts and technological gadgets you could ever want. And to top it all off this is one great looking sports car.

Porsche Panamera S Hybrid review - Auto Express
Full review: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews/firstdrives/267814/porsche_panamera_s_hybrid.html#ixzz1NSyS5AZX
It's a car that's broken new ground in more ways than one. Not only is the Porsche Panamera the firm's first four-door grand tourer, but now, with the introduction of the Panamera S Hybrid, it's also the most fuel-efficient model the firm has ever produced.
Capable of 41.5mpg and emitting only 159g/km of CO2, this Panamera is -- unbelievably -- more economical and cleaner than a VW Passat 1.8 TSI petrol. Yet it still delivers the kind of performance you'd expect from a Porsche. It can sprint from 0-62mph in only six seconds, while top speed is 167mph.

► 2012 Porsche Panamera TURBO S (550 hp) on the road
The new Panamera turbo S is a unique combination of performance and efficiency, driving dynamics and comfort. The 4.8 litre, V8 biturbo charged engine delivers 550 hp (410 kW), ten percent or 50 hp (37 kW) more than the already very powerful engine in the Panamera turbo. By the same token, the torque also increases from 700 to 750 Nm. In the "Sport" and "Sport Plus" mode of the standard Sport Chrono Package turbo and during kick-down in normal mode, the eight cylinder engine delivers fully 800 Nm with the so-called overBoost function.
The power pack is behind the new top-of-the-range Panamera's record sprint times. Thanks to Launch Control, 100 km/h (62 mph) is reached in 3.8 seconds; the top speed is 306 km/h (191 mph). Despite the increased performance, fuel consumption remains at the moderate level of the Panamera turbo -- yet another example of "Porsche Intelligent Performance". In the NEDC the Gran Turismo covers 100 kilometres (62 miles) on 11.5 litres of fuel. Fuel consumption falls to 11.3 litres per 100 km (25 mpg imp.) when fitted with the 19 inch, all-season tyres with optimised rolling resistance developed for the Panamera by Michelin.
The increased performance compared with the Panamera turbo can be attributed to two main enhancements: Improved turbochargers with titanium-aluminium turbine wheels and modified engine control. The use of the innovative titanium-aluminium alloy reduces the weight of the turbine and compressor wheel. This results in a lower moment of inertia and thus in improved and more agile engine responsiveness.
Even for a top luxury class model, Porsche's new top-of-the-range Panamera boasts an extraordinarily comprehensive equipment level. In keeping with the sporty concept of the high-performance Panamera, it features the most important driving dynamics control systems as standard. For example, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), an active roll stabilisation system, nips in the bud the vehicle's tendency to lean when cornering, thus enhancing agility and comfort in equal measure. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) applies a variable torque split to the rear wheels combined with an electronically controlled rear differential lock, thus ensuring superior traction and therefore greater agility in every driving situation. The steering system uses the speed-dependent Servotronic. The Sport Chrono Package turbo, which tunes the suspension and power unit, making them even sportier by pressing the additional "Sport Plus" button, is also fitted as standard, as is the sports Exhaust system for an even more emotional engine sound.
The sporty character of the new Panamera turbo S is apparent not just in its performance but is also reflected on the exterior. The 20-inch turbo II wheels with increased rear axle track width, side skirts from the Porsche Exclusive range and the adaptive extending four-way rear spoiler in the exterior colour ensure particularly sporty performance and look. The fusion of exclusivity and sportiness is conveyed in the interior by the bi-colour leather finish, fitted as standard. The new combination of black/cream is offered exclusively for the new Panamera turbo S with agate grey/cream also being added as an exclusive combination from the autumn.
The Panamera turbo S costs 167,076 euro in Germany, including VAT and country-specific equipment. Deliveries start in June 2011.

Porsche 911 (991) review - CarBuyer
Read the full review here: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/porsche/911/coupe/review
One of the longest running sports cars in existence, the latest Porsche 911- code-named the 991, will go on sale in the UK from December 2011. Featuring a lower roof, more bulbous headlights and sharper tail-lights the front track is also wider, improving handling. The engines have received several tweaks too. The standard Carrera's 3.6-litre flat six cylinder engine is replaced by a smaller 3.4 that is more efficient but produces more power, at 345bhp. The 3.8-litre found in the Carrera S now produces 394bhp. Performance when fitted with the PDK twin-clutch gearbox and optional Sport Chrono Pack is very impressive. The standard Carrera sprints from 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds whilst the Carrera S can nail the benchmark in just 4.1 seconds. The interior has received a major makeover that is inspired by the Panamera, but with fewer switches. Most owners will opt for the PDK gearbox but Porsche also offer a seven-speed manual option - the first of it's kind in a production car.
