Cylinder Head Porting and Port Matching
Anthony @ DIYautotech takes you through the steps on how to port match (

may take you about a day, but will give you a cylinder head with high flow

1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass 10 second car
Here's a very street-able 10 second '71 Oldsmobile Cutlass! It started out
as a very clean stock original that then received a pro built 468 ci V8 big
block and a turbo 350 automatic with a
4800 stall converter. The engine has a .720 lift solid roller cam shaft,
ported 781 heads, 12:1 compression, forged pistons, 150 shot of NOS,
digital MSD ignition, MSD wires, MSD Blaster SS coil, Hooker Super Comp
headers, custom aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, Weiand Team G
single plain intake manifold, Demon carburetor, K&N filter and breather,
March pulley system, fluid dampener, Magna Fuel Pressure control system,
NOS Powershot control system, and the wiring is all very clean under the
hood. Out back there's a12 bolt posi rear end with 4:10 gears and Mosier
axles, a Barry Grant fuel system, and Hotchkis rear suspension. The Cutlass
sits on a set of Billet Specialties 15 inch polished aluminum wheels with
Mickey Thompson 26x7.50-15LTs up front and 28x12.50-15LTs out back, and has
a lightweight Aerospace Components disc brake kit. The interior features a
6 point roll bar and retains all the factory interior, 4 point harness
system, has hideaway Autometer gauges, and a working stock radio! The car
has had a cowl hood installed, painted to match the rest of the original
paint. This is a VERY reliable, VERY street-able, 10 second car!
1966 Olds 442 W30 MuscleCar Nationals Race & Show Fun
Great memories racing and showing my 1966 Olds 442 Tri-Carb W30 with
friends at the MuscleCar Nationals in Sacramento. I restored it to showroom
condition in the 1980's, including balancing and blueprinting the original
Olds 400 engine and drivetrain to factory specs as documented in the 2-part
article I wrote for Musclecar Review magazine. It's all 442 including the
original Olds 400 "E" block, heads, carbs, intake/carbs, etc, and raced on
DOT legal street tires through mufflers and full Exhaust per Musclecar Nationals factory stock
rules. I raced my first 442 in stock eliminator during the 1960's, and had
a ball with my friends showing and racing this one at various events around
the country. I hope you enjoyed sharing this trip down musclecar memory
lane with me.

This video is dedicated to my good friend John Seguin, who died shortly
after he videotaped some of the racing scenes in this video for me. Here's
to John and our other friends who share our passion for cars: cars and
shows may come and go, including the MuscleCar Nationals, but our memories
make sure that "Good Friends are Forever".
Edelbrock RPM Olds 455 Head Porting
The scariest thing I ever did was port a set of new Edelbrock aluminum
cylinder heads. My first attempt at porting any cylinder head. I raised
the roof .200" and dropped the floor .040". It's best to leave the floor
alone or raise it by filling with epoxy. Porting kit by Mondello.
