1965 Corvair Monza Hardtop - Extremely Clean with Excellent Interior
Thought you'd like a look at this very clean 65 Corvair Monza. It got a bit
of a bad rep at the time because Ralph Nader deemed it unsafe at any speed.
He cited concerns about it's handling and also the fact that the steering
column could pose a danger in an accident. Further testing showed his
claims to be unfounded, in fact the absence of an engine in the front of
the car meant that the engine wouldn't come into the passenger compartment
in a frontal collision like many of the cars of the time. They have also
proven to be very excellent handling cars. Some people have called it a
poor man's Porsche because of it's rear engine configuration. I just
thought it was something unique to take a look at. Thanks for watching and
commenting, I appreciate it.
