Banks Top Diesel Dragster: NHRDA Nationals
On March 6th, 2010 the Banks crew tested out the rail's new "Stroker" 427 cu. in., twin-turbo 7.0L Duramax engine at the NHRDA Nationals in Wittmann, Arizona. The numbers for this trip out were 7.670 @173.54. We were a little faster back in April 2009 when we ran 7.17 @ 181.08. We've also run a best trap speed of 190MPH with the car on a separate test session. All those runs were with our twin-turbo'd Duramax, and now we're getting set to hit the track with a supercharged configuration. Stay tuned for that! More info at www.bankspower.com/topdieseldragster

The quickest 4G63 in the world just went quicker. I apologize for the shaky video, the camera didn't want to auto-focus for our camera man. I also included some GoPro footage of the same run with a great 4G63 engine view.
Subaru 360 (Speedracer) back half modification
This is a peek at my Frankenstein Hybrid Subaru 360 sedan with the 4g63 engine and LSD turbo 5 speed. I aquired this car in 99 or 2000 as a shell that a tree limb smashed the top and then the factory power unit was stolen. It probably wins the award for the most work and least driven car I've ever owned. It is an engineering marvel in it's own right. Looking back, I really should have built this car a tube frame then set the body on top. Instead I worked around the body. Uggg. I tortured myself designing and fabricating the rear suspension with no room to work. Same with installing the engine. Well no more! It took a long time to work up to it as I really hate cutting up a nice body. It had to be done. I was going to cut above the doors, however, it would weakened the door frame structure too much and I know there would be trouble with door fit. Last minute, I left the door froames alone, and I cut the rear of the car off for access. I will pin the rear body back on for driving around. I should have done this years ago. This is the sceond edit, Van Halen throws in some tasty guitar licks to cover up the skillsaw noise.
4G63 Dragster - Dyno Session
This is our 4G63 Dragster (rail car) on the Dyno for the first time. It's a Mitsubishi 2.0L 4 cylinder engine running on methanol with a 74mm turbo.
WORLDS FASTEST AWD / 4G63 DATSUN / 20B RX7 IN TESTING
Willowbank Raceway held the 1st of the 2012 Top Sportman Series on the weekend. Reece McGregor and the Heat Treatments Skyline thought it would be a good chance to have some test runs in their worlds fastest RB26 powered 4wd skyline. The team worked hard all day and were rewarded with a final pass or 7.64, not far off their 7.56 record, although something tells me theres plenty more to come from this car again.
Another car using the test lane was Rob Novak in his Jett Racing 4G63 powered Datsun 1200. The team made adjustments through the day and saw a PB 7.35 @ 187mph on the second last pass of the night, the final wild pass on video then saw a transmission failure but a happy team none the less.
Final team testing was the Direct Clutch/Promodz Rx7, the car is 3/4 chassis and a running 3rotor 20BT tweaked by Mazfix. The team recently made adjustments in the rear and also in transmission and are starting to see results, it ran a 7.99 @ 171mph through the day, then later in the night suffered a leaking Boost pipe. Owners Jerry and Dan tell me they havent even started to push the motor yet, so another car with plenty more to come, and im sure that pb 7.80 will soon be slashed.
These cars should all be running at the up and coming Sydney Jamboree at WSID and by the looks of things have some unfinished business they want to take care of :)
