The Dodge Magnum name has been used on a number of different automobiles. The most recent is a large rear-wheel drive station wagon introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model year.
The Magnum was Dodge's first station wagon since the discontinuation of the Dodge Colt wagon in 1991, and though it was the largest American-brand station wagon introduced since the discontinuation of the Chevrolet Caprice/Buick Roadmaster Estate wagons in 1996, it is smaller than "traditional" players in the full-size category (roughly 4" narrower and 15" shorter than a Ford Crown Victoria). Based on the similar size and styling, the Dodge Magnum could be considered by some a spiritual successor to the AMC Concord.
A high performance SRT-8 version debuted at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show. It went on sale in 2005 as a 2006 model. Like the 300C SRT-8, it featured the new 6.1 L Hemi engine, which produces 425 hp 20" wheels, firmer suspension, bigger brakes, new lower-body treatment, and a revised front and rear-fascia completes the transformation. The SRT-8 was named Best New Modern Muscle Car in the 2006 Canadian Car of the Year contest.
2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8
Thats right a 2008 Dodge Challenger! As shown in the video, the new Challenger was designed highly with the 1970 - 1974 Dodge Challengers in mind. The accent line, the hood, stripe, the headlights, and pretty much the overall shape are all similar to the 1970 - 1974 Dodge Challenger. Dodge definitely did its research on the 2008 Dodge Challenger.
The 2008 Dodge Challenger will be based on the LY Platform (the updated version of the LX platform). It will share the updated LY platform with the Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300 and the Magnum. The new platform will be able to hold a manual transmission along with an automatic transmission. The Dodge Challenger will be rear wheel drive, and have what everyone wanted, two doors. The starting price on the 2008 Dodge Challenger was $37,995.
Dodge will offer the limited-edition 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in three colors: HEMI® Orange, Bright Silver Metallic and Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat. Each two-door, rear-wheel-drive coupe will be produced with a numbered dash plaque, carbon fiberlike hood stripes and will be powered by SRT's 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 engine that boasts 425 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque.
2008 Dodge Viper SRT10
The Dodge Viper is a V10-powered sports car manufactured by the Dodge division of Chrysler LLC. Production of the two seat sports car began at New Mack Assembly in 1992 and moved to its current home at Conner Avenue Assembly in October 1995. The car, as well as numerous variations of it, has made countless appearances in TV shows, video games, movies, and music videos.
The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 isn't all-new, but the signature V10 lump under the hood is. Serious, meaningful changes have increased the V10's output and improved its fuel economy (and even its air emissions, too). And yes, it really is rated at 600 hp, which peaks at 6,100 rpm. Torque is up to 560 pound-feet at 5,000 rpm — as if this descendent of a truck engine didn't have enough torque already.
2006 Dodge Magnum SRT-8 Review
Meet the Dodge Magnum SRT-8, America's first race inspired full-size wagon. The Magnum SRT-8 is powered by a 6.1l Hemi V8 bumping out 425 hp. Stopping is brought courtesy of 14" Brembo brakes encased in 20" forged aluminum wheels that are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. All of this, and the Magnum SRT-8 allows for 71 cubic feet of storing space, making it the most performance oriented grocery cart in the world. Finally, Dodge has found their niche.
