Fri Fart 2013 På Göta kanal
it was time for the Free Speed day (Fri Fart)at Göta kanal. This year The Boat Sverige was there with both Roll Royce Merlin 1300 Hp Engines. it did a couple of driveby's maxin 58 knots (66mph). The idea to build the boat was born 1929, and it was planned to race against Garfield Woods båt Miss America VIII Speed record. But the Wall Street Crash came in the way. And the Project was forgotten but a couple of years ago the Blueprints where found and the boat was built . The plan now is to go faster than the Miss America VIII Speed record, But not in Göta Channel ;-) 58 knop (66mph) was fast enough today... .

The Veyron does not shift at all, it just changes clutches (double clutch, DSG), interruption time 0 s. The more the speed increases, the more time between the (fpr Koenigsegg timeconsuming) is the need for shifting is needed. The Agera S does not need to compensate the shift times with faster acceleration between the shifts. Agera S frontal area: 1,87 m2 CD 0,35 Veyron frontal area: 2,0 m2 CD = 0,42 (lowest possible). Better acceleration at speed. And also +30 HP and -500 kg does also help.

Most of the components tucked beneath its hood are ingenious innovations that were formerly only deemed possible by visionaries like Ferdinand Piëch. Boasting a maximum speed of more than 400 km per hour, the Veyron is unmatched in the super sports category. It offers a total of 1,001 HP, and its ample power reserves even at high speeds are the fabric of dreams for luxury-class limousines: for a constant speed of 250 km/h, the Veyron only needs 270-280 HP. This means that the seven-gear clutch transmission works with a torque of up to 1,250 Newton meters. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) ensures the necessary flexibility and maneuverability at any speed. The Veyron reaches velocities that would literally lift the car off the ground if it werent for its ingenious aerodynamics, which keeps it firmly on the road even at full speed. Adjusting the back spoiler, reducing ground clearance, opening and closing the lids it all adds to the perfect balance between propulsion and downforce. Such a super sports car may not seem to be brought to a halt easily, but the Veyrons ceramic brakes slow it down faster than it can accelerate. While it takes this exceptional car only 2.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h, it needs even less time a mere 2.3 seconds to come to a standstill from 100 (reference point). To reduce the risk of injuries in accidents, Bugatti had a Formula 1 safety concept adapted for the Veyron. All these technical details combine to make the Veyron a truly exceptional super sports car.
