Równa jazda i meldowanie się na metach wszystkich odcinków pierwszej, sobotniej pętli załogi Jaroslav Orsak/ Karel Vajik sprawiło, iż czeski duet jadący w Mitsubishi Lancerze Evo IX wjeżdżał na serwis w Mladej Boleslav na 7 pozycji. Niestety, drugie przejazdy prób: Bzi i Smrzkova, zepchnęły Orsaka na 12 lokatę. Ostani Oes przed kolejnym serwisem - Sumburk II, zakończył się dla załogi nr 9 w początkowej części tej "RZ-ty" w strasznie wyglądający sposób. Cały wypadek uwieczniła nasza kamera. Na szczęście załodze nic się nie stało i po dłuższym spadaniu w dół skarpy, wyszła z poobijanego samochodu o własnych siłach!

Towards the end of a great HPDE at VIR Full in February 2009, i get a little tired and make a mistake in the high speed esses which results in me dropping right rear wheel off the track and loosing control, hitting a tire wall in m 2002 BMW M3 coupe. Lesson learned: Stay hydrated and focused.
BMW M3 E46 Roll-over crash in Nürburgring VLN race
I pull the trusty pocketcam out just as the first few drops of rain fall on Wehrseifen. An E46 driver loses control on the entry to the corner, and ends up rolling all the way around. Race was the VLN #2 of 2012 and this was only the second lap of a four-hour event!

Yesterday around 14:00 in the afternoon, a serious traffic accident happened on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring with a total of eight vehicles involved including the famous BMW M3 Ring Taxi. The accident took place in two phases with drivers from several European countries involved.
The accident was probably caused by speeding. In the section called "Bergwerk" a construction company set up by a construction zone. While most of the drivers realized this, a fourth driver was trying to brake, but could not prevent a side collision with a car driving ahead. The car then hurled into the grass. After 50 meters it came back on the road where it hit two other cars.
The accident situation was recognized by three other drivers and they were able to slow down their cars. Another car, a BMW M3 ring taxi, did not pay attention and crashed against two of the decelerating cars. The ring taxi eventually stopped against the guard rail. Except for one single vehicle, all cars were severely damaged and no longer roadworthy. The estimated damage is more than € 100,000.
