following Mazda 787B on my bicycle at 24h of Le Mans 2013 (idle + revving)
To mark the 90th anniversary of the 24h of Le Mans, 11 legendary winning cars were chosen by the public and a jury. They did 2 slow parade laps before the actual FIA WEC race would start. One of these was this Mazda 787B. This is the actual winning car from the 1991 24 hours of Le Mans. Driven to victory by Bertrand Gachot, Johnny Herbert and Volker Weidler. Engine: 4 Rotor R26B, 2.616 liter / 159.6 cu in, Naturally Aspirated Power: 700 bhp / 522 KW @ 9000 rpm Torque: 608 Nm / 448 ft lbs @ 6500 rpm Weight: 830 kilo / 1829.8 lbs event: 24 hours of Le Mans date: 2013-06-22 Filmed with a Canon Legria HF M46. Mazda 787 at The Mitty (true sound)
After a long list of technical faults, we have ended up with one over 1080p camera, and a microphone recording from the cockpit of one of the Mazda 787B. While the video itself is not too interesting, it is safe to say this is for your EARS. I haven't run into any other video or source for this quality sound from one of the few 787B's around the world.
