429ci Pontiac by Throttle's Performance at the Amsoil Engine Masters Challenger 2014
This is an Engine Masters entry from Throttle's Performance. It's the most powerful Pontiac in the 2014 competition, delivering 685 horsepower and 596 lb-ft in qualifying, and clearly capable of more because a tuning error made for some lost numbers over the three-run average used for the qualifying runs. Engine Masters is an annual shootout of engine builders in competition for huge cash prizes. For 2014, the Challenge is for two-valve V8s above 400ci, running on 101-octane fuel, and making optimal power from 3,000-6,500 rpm. The competition is held at the University of Northwestern Ohio.
