1973 Maverick Grabber radical 332 Stroker
This is the video of a 7 month build. The car is a 1973 Maverick Grabber.
The engine is a 332 Scat Stroker with Dart aluminum heads, roller cam, 10:1
compression, 650 Holley, stainless valves, MSD Billet Distributor and 6AL.
Many other modifications including 4 wheel disc brake conversion, 380 posi,
Top Loader 4 speed, Cal Tracks traction bars. We just started the engine
for the first time on January 31st. There were some initial problems with
the carburetor. We could not get it to idle initially. After several
attempts to adjust the carb., we switched it out, and put the old carb on.
The problems were solved, but we ran out of video tape. More to come....

1973 Shelby Maverick Replica
You won't see many of these! This is a recreation of a joint effort
between Shelby and Ford of Mexico and a dealer who thought it would be a
great idea. Mavericks were assembled there, so this was a natural for
modification by Shelby. New parts were fabricated unique to this car.
Noticed the shared tailights with the Shelby Mustang.

Replaced all of the lash adjusters/lifters and it's still ticking... When
using a stethoscope the place I could hear it loudest is right on the
intake just behind the throttle body... No noise at all from the valve
covers or timing cover... Goes away when cruising with a little bit of load
on the engine... Gets louder when I let off the gas then quiet again at
idle only ticking slightly
