Finnegan's Garage Ep. 9: Big Block Nitrous Boat Racing
I love building and tuning racing engines and driving a drag boat has allowed me to build outrageously powerful engines that would be pretty useless on the street. When bolted into my jet boat, though, I can experience brutal acceleration without the risk of going to jail. Of course, the risk of death is there since boats like mine don't have roll cages or seat belts, but the fun far outweighs the fear. I liken driving one of these water-rockets to driving a fast street bike. Anyway, I don't have much footage of my driving days but luckily my buddy Randy Joyce found a tape of a race from way back in 2009. Hopefully this will get you pumped up to see my next drag boat hit the water, hopefully later this year. Episode 10 will feature the header build for the new boat. For now, enjoy the action from one of the best weekends I've ever had in racing. Thanks to the Pit Crew-Randy Joyce, Robert Jonsson, Joe Cole, Scott Pynn and Track Announcers, Jeff Fry and Rolf Sammons. I upload new vids to this channel every Monday unless stuff goes sideways or I'm out of town shooting Roadkill. Chasing 200 MPH at the First Ever Ohio Mile! - HOT ROD Unlimited Episode 8
On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited, HOT ROD Editor In Chief David Freiburger explores the very first standing-mile race to be held on the runway at the Airpark in Wilmington, Ohio. This race was sanctioned by the East Coast Timing Association, which for years had been running on an old WWII runway at the airport in Maxton, North Carolina. When military needs caused the ECTA to lose access to Maxton at the end of the 2011 season, the city of Wilmington was happy to accept the racers. The very first meet was filled to capacity with 175 entries, and despite rain delays, 24 vehicles eclipsed 200 mph at the event. Watch as Freiburger makes his first passes at Wilmington, hunting for 200 mph in Wayne Jesel's former Busch-series NASCAR race car. Now available in full HD 1080P resolution!
