Ford Aerostar Actuator Rod Repair
Shows how to remove a steering wheel and replace an actuator rod on a 1996 Ford Aerostar AWD XLT. This is an intense repair and it is important to have all required tools before starting otherwise you can easily get stuck and require a tow truck and a mechanic to complete the repair process.
If your vehicle won't turn off (turned on, but now turning the key is doing nothing) and you have a Ford (I can't say all Ford owners will be able to use this advice) then pull the ignition switch out (first thing shown on the video is the ignition switch hanging right below the air bag power connector) and pull that metal pin sticking up towards you. This will turn off your vehicle.

Well, today I had the chance to make a better driving vid of the Aerostar. Its just around the house, but still. I love this van, it just floats over any bump!! And the 4.0l v6 just runs. Cool!

RIP Aerostar 11/94 - 8/09. I traded in my Aerostar for the cash for clunkers deal... The Aerostar that was almost like a friend to me is now going to die the HORRIBLE death of sodium silicate, then crushed, and finally salvaged to become swords in China. Heres the sickest part, the Aerostar only had 115,000 miles on it. Now they were EXTREME USAGE miles but it never has let me down EVER, even on its last days with me it still shined, and started on the first turn of the key tranny shifted PERFECT, and overall drove with out any fuss.... As I drove off the lot with my new Edge i looked in my rearview mirror to see one last glimse of the Aerostar, and thought "Oh Lord what have i just done?"
