Its wheelwells are absolutely filled with Toyo T1R rubber. And it's so low that there's not even room for a dime between the tires and fenders.....

It was modified by Ford Racing Performance Parts back in 2009 to test some of its parts, including that Supercharger you can hear and the lower ride height you can see. And this very car was even tested by Inside Line back in the day and it appeared on that Web site's home page back in July of 2009."

Drifter! Rhys Millen Hyundai Genesis Drifting
MORE RHYS MILLEN DRIFTING @ INSIDELINE.COM: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=146026 Rhys Millen @ Pikes Peak: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfF55LIxZo4 It's not like you think. It's not busy. Or rushed. Or frantic. There's no chopping at the wheel, no exaggerated stabs at the pedals. In fact, it's just the opposite: small, highly calculated and immensely precise inputs direct the Genesis Coupe's trajectory. Rapid but relaxed steering suggestions translate into dramatic changes in direction and speed. Subtle, deliberate prods at the throttle and shifter blur the scenery on one side, then the other. This is cool control. This is engineered elegance. This is drifting done right. This is what it's like to ride in the world's most advanced drift car: Rhys Millen's 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Of course the calm, collected ride inside is in ironic contrast to the violence outside. But we're not surprised. We've ridden with Millen before, during practice for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb years ago and around various rally stages back in American rallying's glory days. Since then he has won the 2008 Red Bull World Drift Championships, the Formula D series title in 2005 and two Tires.com Triple Crown Drift Championships. Not to mention multiple titles at Pikes Peak. That this guy can drive is not the surprising part. What is surprising is the level of preparation it takes to make a drift car competitive in 2009.

Climb - Pikes Peak Hill Climb with a Monster
Ride on the bumper of a screaming 910hp, Twin-turbo, All-wheel Drive, 150 mph Suzuki SX4 as it races up one of the world's most dangerous hills. An attempt by the "Monster" to break his own record of 10:01:41... COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (June 29, 2010) -- For the fifth consecutive time, Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima combined experience, skill and Falken Tires to claim overall victory in the 88th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Although he did not set a new Pikes Peak record, one day before his 60th birthday, Tajima continues to hold the current overall record for reaching the peak, beating hill climb veterans Paul Dallenbach and Rhys Millen in the Unlimited Class. He drove his new 910-hp Monster Sport Suzuki SX4 Hill Climb Special on Falken WildPeak A/T tires, the powerful new line of all-terrain, all-season tires Falken launched this past April. Following Exhaustive tests in a Japanese wind tunnel facility, Monster's 2010 Pikes Peak race car underwent extensive aerodynamic changes to better adapt to the modified road surface on the race to the clouds, which assumed a smoother tarmac and less gravel than last year. Thinning air ascending the mountain robs most motors of their power by 30 or more percent, but the increase in horsepower over last year's race car helped push the driver forward.

Rhys Millen's 750 HP V6 is bred to break Pike's Peak
Rhys Millen will attempt to beat the current "Unlimited Class" World Record of 10:01.408 & the 10-minute barrier at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Last June, Rhys took a Hyundai Genesis coupe to a class record in the two-wheel drive Time Attack class with a 12:09.397. This year, Millen wants to take the overall record back from Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima, whose held the record since 2007, and bested Rod Millen's thirteen year old course record. Millen is aiming to get the first ever sub-10 minute time at Pikes Peak and he and his team have built a new car dubbed the Genesis PM580, a 1,850 pound, 750 horse power V6 beast is designed specifically to conquer the 156 turns to the top and return the world record to the Millen name. Rhys Millen's Pikes Peak World Record Attempt
On June 27, 2010, Rhys Millen attempted to beat the current "Unlimited Class" World Record of 10:01.408 at the 88th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the "Race to the Clouds." For 10 years, it has been Rhys' dream to break the 10-minute barrier and this year he hoped to capture the elusive record and return it to the Millen name. This is look at his run and the challenges he faced in his custom built Genesis PM580: a 1,850 pound, 750 horse power V6 designed specifically to conquer the 156 turns of this 12.52 mile course (of which this year, half is pavement) that begins at 9,390 feet and finishes at the 14,110 foot summit. We put two of the best options through their paces around our local racing circuit: the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T and the ever-popular Honda Civic Si Coupe. It was a front-drive vs. rear-drive, turbocharged vs. normally aspirated 4-cylinder battle. But who won the war?

Climb Dance (High Quality)
This award winning short film documents Ari Vatanen's record-breaking run at the 1988 annual Pike's Peak Hill Climb Event in Colorado. The film was created by Jean Louis Mourey and captures Vatanen climbing Pike's Peak in a four wheel drive, four wheel steering Peugeot 405 T16. Watch the world famous rally legend rip through hairpins and glide past sheer cliffs at 14,000 foot elevation from cameras inside, in front, underneath and above the car. This is by far some of the most spectacular and nerve bending race car footage ever recorded. The film has since become one of the most watched and talked about car films ever, right up there with the French cult classic Rendezvous. This is the best quality available for this clip
