How to Restore a Black 996 Porsche Track Car
This is a buddies car that I needed to restore after many years of track days and little to no detailing/cleaning. In this longer video, I discuss the different steps and products used to restore the paint to near perfection. I also introduce a few new products for "claying" your paint, and show the differences between a rotary polisher and DA polisher. (It is a bit on the long side, but its important to understand the thought process behind paint correction prior to working on a difficult job such as a Porsche 996 in black.) Hope this is helpful. VW 411 Carrera 'Nordstadt Express'
This unique car was planned by Günther Artz at Autohaus Nordstadt during the early seventies, long before his other constructions like a VW 1303 Super Beetle with Carrera engine or VW Golf (Rabbit) based on a Porsche 928 chassis became famous. The Type 4 pictured here has a 3.0 Carrera engine, Recaro seats and the dashboard of an early Porsche 911 and is known as the 'Nordstadt Express'.
