Triple Black Attack: 1970 440 6-Pack 'Cuda - BIG MUSCLE
Each and every muscle car enthusiast has that one experience that has helped define the way in which they view the automobile. For Northern California's John Cross that experience came by way of riding in the back of his cousins 1970 440 6-Pack Plymouth 'Cuda when he was a kid. It was a car that provided him with memories, stories and of course, a goal - that being, to one day own the very car which got his engine running all those years ago. It's now 2012, 42 years after that first faithful ride in the very 'Cuda you're about to see. This time however it resides in John's garage, not his cousins, which can mean only one thing... Sometimes dreams do come true.

LMC Super Cuda 200 MPH!
log onto www.legendarymotorcar.com to see photos of the build! Lady Luck was on our side last week as the Legendary Team made its way to the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, Michigan. An all night drive through a snow storm saw us pull into the proving grounds parking lot at the crack of dawn. It was cold and overcast but no sign of rain or snow. It looked like the weather would cooperate, the next hurdle was having MOPAR engineers check out the Cuda. The car passed with flying colors, testament to the sweat and dedication put in by everyone at Legendary over the last year. Then it was off to the black lake for some real world handling tests in preparation for the 4.75 mile oval and a crack a breaking the 200 mph mark. Both the Cuda and the Enzo look impressive on the track but once the sun began to come out late that morning the setting was perfect for our high speed run. I think we captured some spectacular footage of a once in a life time event. After a brief mishap, when the Cuda lost its windshield trim at 190 mph, Peter was ready to go. We could hear the Cuda coming long before we could see her, as the cars went by they sounded like jet fighters. Top speed 208 mph with still some leftwe did it!

393 Cleveland Stroker - First Start
This is the first start up of a 393 Cleveland Stroker that I've been meticulously building over the last several months. It's been a great learning experience for me as I was able to not only plan and assemble the components for the engine, but design and build the test stand as well. Here are the specs for this engine: Edelbrock dual plane aluminum intake manifold -- For run in only, switching to Weiand X-celerator 2V that has been converted to FI for later. Edelbrock Alloy heads -- CNC Ported by Cam Research in Englewood, CO 1.73:1 ratio Harland Sharp Rocker Arms Probe 393C stroker kit (10669-030-PS-F393C): 4340 Forged steel crank, 3.85" stroke, Nitride Hardened Probe H-beam forged steel rods, 5.956 long Probe forged pistons, 16cc dish, 2618-T61 Aluminum, Full Floating Rollmaster CS3130 -- Timing Set Powerbond Harmonic Balancer Custom ground hydraulic flat tappet Camshaft Oil Pan -- Aluminum 10 Qt. -- Dennis Quella -- Pantera Performance Edelbrock Water Pump -- Flow Kooler Thermostat

426 Hemi in a '55 Chevy! Roadkill Episode 8
On this episode of Roadkill, HOT ROD's David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan hit the road on a quest to build a car they've both dreamed of for years: a '55 Chevy Bel Air sedan set up like a '60s Gasser and powered by a Mopar 426 Hemi. The guys drag out a '73 GMC Suburban that they'd never driven more than around the block (did you expect anything else?), then use it to pick up a bare '55 Chevy body in California before heading north for the 1,000-mile trip to Lincoln City, Oregon. That's the home of Jim Meyer Racing, the chassis builder that helps the guys turn the '55 into a wicked looking hot rod in a single day. There's no fail in this episode of Roadkill! Well, at least nothing terminal. Roadkill appears every fourth Friday on the new Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend Subscribe now to make sure you're in on all the action! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=motortrend Facebook - http://facebook.com/motortrendmag & http://facebook.com/hotrodmag Twitter - http://twitter.com/motortrend Google+ - https://plus.google.com/101867967859016552744/posts Website - http://www.motortrend.com & http://www.hotrod.com
