Easter was a bit wet in the Blue Mountains which made this track along the powerlines at Lithgow a bit extra muddy and slippery. Both vans have a rear air locker. The van with the mud tyres has an open front diff and auto hubs. The other van has AT tyres, locked front diff and manual hubs. Can you spot the difference? Like those vans? Sunny Corner L300 4WD vans driving out of the river on to the bank
Sep 2014 - Was fun to learn more L300 4wd enthusiasts in this weekend camping and wheeling in Sunny Corner. Having different cars ment this little climb shows the effect of lockers and suspension. The other vans have a limited slip. But after driving up with much ease I couldn't resist to try to drive up in 2wd with a locked diff. Since that went pretty easy I even managed to drive up in 2wd with an open diff without too much dramas and minimal track damage I repaired immediately afterwards. Being able to lock makes it possible to drive up without slipping tyres, avoiding any track erosion. Interested in these vans? 80 series Land Cruiser vs Mitsubishi L300 van vs Ford Ranger at Articulator
Seems everyone had a bit of a struggle here at "the Articulator" today. Every time it is a bit different and this time it looked easier than ever. But it wasn't. A few stones are so placed that there are steep bits with hardly any grip. Easy to bounce a bit when going too fast and then you will just slide sideways.Next time I am going to dust off those stones with a broom and see if that helps a bit :-) Like those vans?
