9.17 SECOND 13B DATSUN: TEAM 1200 RACING @ JAMBOREE
Jamboree saw plenty of Mazfix cars achieve personal best quarter mile
times. Troy Spelman ran fast and consistent in his Street 289 13B turbo Datsun 1200 ute, and managed to record a new
pb of 9.17 in his 2nd consecutive final with all runs over 140mph.
Unfortunately as Street 289 is a DYO (dial your own) bracket, he went below
his nominated time and broke out, thus taking out runner up once again.
This car is getting faster every
year so look out as he hits the strip in 2012 congrats to everybody
involved with this machine.
AWESOME! Datsun Sunny Excellent 1400GX

This Datsun Sunny Excellent 1400GX was just so clean & original. And, what
a surprise it was as it was my first time to see one of these. I found it
in the car-park of the Retro Car-meeting at Mojiko, Japan. It really
should've joined in the car-show, it would've fit in beautifully.

450hp LS1 1978 Datsun 280Z
One of the coolest imports I've had the opportunity to see in action, this
extremely streetable 1978 Datsun 280z takes it's first trip to the drag
strip to do some testing. The car has an LS1 with heads, cam, and FAST
intake manifold putting down around 450 wheel horsepower! Best 1/8 mile
time was 7.11 for the night.
1978 Datsun 120y (B210) Coupe. MX5 1.8 vvt engine
280ZX front struts converted to coilover and 280Zx vented disc brakes. Axle
is Ford English shortened with plated LSD diff and Quaife shafts converted
to 114.3 Datsun PCD. rear brakes are RS2000 spec 9inch. 250lb front
springs, leaf springs have extra leaf fitted plus axle has tramp bars.
Engine is standard Mazda MX5 apart from modified plenum to increase volume
and ported intake runners. 150ish BHP
I sold this car in 2013. i do miss it but i need to finish off my F20c
powered Honda S800. hopefully a video in a few years time. should be fun.
Junkyard Turbo Swap! Chevy-Powered 1971 Datsun 240Z Autocross Thrash - Roadkill Ep. 26
What do you get when you cross a rusted 1971 Datsun 240Z with a Chevy 4.3L
V6 and a turbo from a Ford Power Stroke
Diesel? The Rotsun! During Roadkill Episode 25, Freiburger and Finnegan
revived the Rotsun expecting it to dominate in the 9-car autocross showdown
of previous Roadkill project cars. It also needed to beat a 2014 Kia Rio 5,
but failed to do so with the Rotsun shamefully breaking down before
completing a decent lap. So in this episode: revenge. After swapping in the
mismatched turbo and making nearly 400
rear-wheel horsepower, the guys head to
the autocross at the Goodguys 5th Spring Nationals in Scottsdale, Arizona
and mingle with fans on their way to a rematch with that dastardly Kia.
Roadkill appears every fourth Friday on the Motor Trend channel.
