Caterham race panic - One-handed driving in wet race

You are on the grid just before the start of a race when you realise that your helmet isn't fastened. You get it done up, but have to take your gloves off to do it. The race starts, you get a storming start, but you still have your gloves off. In theory you could get black flagged for this so have to decide what to do.... Caterham Crash 1992 to 95
Various crashes and spins from the Caterham Vauxhall race series, 1992, 1994 & 1995 seasons. Not a full crash log, just clips from the races I had on vhs from satellite. These cars are fully race prepared Catewrhams, with tuned 2litre Vauxhall twin-cam engines and slick tyres, the series featured some well known drivers from the UK club scene.

The various Caterham series provided incident aplenty when they visited Brands at the BRSCC meeting on the 12th and 13th June 2011. Action from The Caterham Academy, Roadsports, Supersports and Dutch Supersports races.

cool down lap on a trackday. Sun in my eyes. Coolant dropped on the circuit by another car. Hit coolant on painted track edge and left the tarmac for the barrier at ~86mph. The lap before it would have been ~110mph. 2 broken ribs and 9k of uninsured damage.

Quarter of a million pound 700bhp race spec porsche GT2-R (as demoed by 911experience) comes past me at snetterton at 125mph+. The caterhams ~500bhp/ton, 0-100mph in 8 secs spec is testament to just how mindbogglingly quick in a straight line the race GT2 is.

2013 Caterham R620 Development Car; one lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife
Caterham were here for the recent F1 GP at the Nürburgring. They brought with them the engine and transmission test mule for the new R620 supercar. This little green machine started life as 'just' an R500, before it got the new SaDev sequential gearbox and the supercharged R620 motor. I was only allowed one lap and I've got no prior experience with a flat-shifting sequential, so I didn't go too crazy, but it was still quite quick...
