Typisches Merkmal der schweren Lastwagen ist die Einzelradaufhängung sowie luftgekühlte Motoren. Die LKW haben V8 und V12-Motoren und Getriebe mit bis zu 20 Gängen. Die bekannteste Baureihe, die auch hier im Film zu sehen ist, ist das Allrad-Frontlenkerfahrzeuge vom Typ 813, das 1967 vorgestellt wurde. Das zweite Modell im Film ist ein Tatra 815 mit einem 8x8 Antrieb und einer Leistung von 347 PS. Das Fahrzeug hat ein Gewicht von 15t hat und verbraucht im Gelände bis zu 250l Diesel aus einem 520 Liter-Tank.
Military Vehicles [Czech]: Tatra T815-7 MTV (Armády České Republiky)
Tatra T815 is a truck family, produced by Czech company Tatra. It uses the
traditional tatra concept of rigid backbone tube and swinging half-axles
giving independent suspension. The vehicles are available in 4x4, 6x6, 8x8,
10x8, 10x10, 12x8 and 12x12 variants. There are both air-cooled and
liquid-cooled engines available with power ranging from 230--610 kilowatts
(310--820 hp). As a succesor to Tatra T813 it was originally designed for
extreme off-road condition, while nowadays there are also variants
designated for mixed (both off- and on-road) use.
The T815 and its descendant models brought the Czech truck racer Karel
Loprais to victory six times in the Paris Dakar Rally. In addition to
civilian/commercial uses, the truck family is also widely used by the
military of the Czech Repiblic, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, India, and Israel.

The MOWAG Piranha is a family of armoured fighting vehicles designed by the
Swiss MOWAG, which since April 2010 has changed name to General Dynamics

The MOWAG Piranha is available in 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, and 10x10 wheel versions.
There are several variants within these versions, giving different degrees
of armour protection and several kinds of turrets, for use in a variety of

under license by other companies, and variants are in service with military
forces throughout the world. Piranha derivatives have been manufactured

Stryker vehicle is derived from the Canadian LAV III which in turn is based
on the Piranha, as is the LAV-25 family in service with the USMC. The
Australian Defence Force also has its own modified version of the Piranha I
8x8 known as the ASLAV (Australian Light Armoured Vehicle). The ASLAV is
operated by two cavalry regiments (the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and 2nd/14th
Light Horse Regiment) and is used in the armoured reconnaissance and
armoured personnel carrier roles. Some variants, like the United States
Marine Corps's Light Armored Vehicle-25 (LAV-25) and its derivatives, are
equipped with propellers for amphibious use, though their abilities are
limited to sheltered waters.
