Pump Gas Pontiac engine by Tin Indian Performance 468 ideling on dyno 558 hp 583 ft lbs of torque
This is a 468 cid Pontiac engine we built for Mike Matuszek and his '66 GTO. The engine is based off a 455 cid pontiac block. An Eagle crank and rod combo was used on the bottom end along with a set of KB forged pistons. A Tin Indian Performance custom ground Comp Cams hyd roller was also used with Comp Cams hyd roller lifters. The engine is topped off with Performer RPM cylinder heads and intake. We also used one of our custom 4150 1" spacers with the 950 cfm quick fuel carb. The combo pulled 11" of vac at 850 rpm! It made 558 hp and 583 ft lbs of torque. ALL ON PUMP GAS!!!

Pump Gas 440 cid Pontiac engine by Tin Indian Performance for the CF-71 Freedom Bird idel on dyno
This is the 440 cid Pontiac engine we build to Ty Ingle's CF-71 Freedom Bird. The engine is based off a 400 cid pontiac block. Pro-Warrior 4" stroke crank and Pro-Warrior 6.8 long rod were used on the bottom end along with a set of KB forged pistons. A Tin Indian Performance custom ground Comp Cams solid roller was also used with Crower solid roller lifters. The engine is topped off with Kauffman Racing Equipments new North Wind intake manifold and a custom Pro Systems carb. The combo pulled 11" of vac at 850 rpm! It made 590 hp and 550 ft lbs of torque. ALL ON PUMP GAS!!!

I thought you'd like a look at this very original 1956 Pontiac Star Chief. This amazing survivor has only 74,xxx original miles on the odometer. It's powered by the factory 317 V8, backed by an automatic trans. It has all original interior and even the factory Air Conditioning. You won't find too many out there like this anymore. Chevy, Olds, Pontiac and Buick V8 engines are not the same!
Evidently a segment of the automotive enthusiast population does not believe that the four main GM divisions had their own versions of a V8. In addition there may be people who simply never knew that fact. In this video I show photos of a 350 cid engine from Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Chevrolet and highlight the differences in each. Buick and Pontiac V8 engines went out of production in 1980, Oldsmobile's in 1990 and of course the Chevy versions lasted a lot longer because they were cheaper to produce and easier to smog/mpg certify. I challenge anyone to video themselves removing a Chevy SBC head and then installing it on a Pontiac, Olds or Buick engine.

Pontiac Banshee A Longer Look
The Banshee was a vision for what the Firebird could become. Of course, this concept car could never be built exactly, too low on the road and it wouldn't pass the safety and crash tests, but it was exciting. It demonstrated that the problem with GM cars didn't sit on the designers' shoulders. They were more than capable of dreaming up engaging and fun vehicles that would set imaginations on fire.
