Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 designed for maximum downforce
Chevrolet has released new information about the Camaro ZL1, ahead of its launch later this year. Designed for maximum performance, the car has a unique front fascia, a ventilated hood and a front splitter. There's also aerodynamic side skirts, extended wheel arches, underbody panels and a rear spoiler. Thanks to these tweaks, the ZL1 produces 65 pounds of downforce - at 150 mph (241 km/h) - compared to the SS' 200 pounds of lift. As a refresher, the ZL1 is powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine with 580 hp (432 kW / 588 PS) and 556 lb-ft (754 Nm) of torque. It is paired to a six-speed manual transmission, but a six-speed automatic is optional.
