2015 Volvo XC90 Factory
Production of the 2015 Volvo XC90 at the plant in Torslanda, Sweden.
Symbolising this historic day in Volvo’s 87 year history, the new XC90
will be the first of its cars to carry the company’s new more prominent
iron mark, which has the iconic arrow elegantly aligned with the diagonal
slash across the grille. Together with the T-shaped “Thor’s Hammer”
DRL lights, the iron mark introduces an entirely new, distinctive and
confident face for Volvo’s forthcoming generation of cars.
The XC90’s larger bonnet with its new topography, the beltline and the
sharpened shoulders connecting with the tattoo-like, new rear lights are
other important design signatures that will be mirrored across the range.
To add more visual muscle from the sides, the XC90 comes with a range of
wheel sizes up to 22 inches.
The top of the range XC90 Twin Engine, which combines a two-litre,
four-cylinder supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor,
offers an unrivalled combination of power and clean operation: around 400
carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of around 60 g/km (NEDC driving cycle).
The XC90’s interior is the most luxurious to have been designed for a
Volvo. The most striking feature is a tablet-like touch screen control
console, which forms the heart of an all-new in-car control system. This
system is virtually button free and represents an entirely new way for
drivers to control their car and access a range of Internet-based products
and services. It also helps create an interior that is modern, spacious and

Since its launch, Volvo's XC90 luxury crossover has won acclaim from
legions of satisfied customers while receiving more than 100 prestigious
awards internationally. With Volvo XC90 standard seating for seven,
versatile cargo solutions, extensive Volvo XC90 safety features and a
choice of front and optional Volvo XC90 all-wheel drive with Instant
Traction the Volvo XC90 remains an outstanding value.
Last year, the Volvo XC90 received a significant refresh including a bold
new look along with an enhanced roster of standard features. The fully
color-coordinated exterior with body color front and rear bumpers, sill
moldings and wheel arches makes the Volvo XC90 look sleeker and lower to
the ground while standard LED daytime running lights and taillights enhance
the visual appeal.
For 2014, the flagship Volvo XC90 R-Design gains more standard equipment
including a folding front passenger seat to accommodate long items, a
digital compass, Homelink remote garage door opener and grocery bag holder
in the cargo compartment. The Volvo XC90 3.2 receives executive floor mats
and C-pillar emblems, a folding front passenger seat is added to the Volvo
XC90 Premier Plus trim level while Sovereign Hide soft leather seating
surfaces and new Volvo XC90 19-inch Galateia alloy wheels are now
stand-alone options. Crystal White Pearl is a new color choice for all
Volvo XC90 models.
The Volvo XC90 R-Design continues to impress with its sport-tuned
suspension and steering for an enhanced driving character, Volvo XC90
19-inch Ixion alloy wheels plus a unique Volvo XC90 R-Design grille,
leather seating surfaces with embossed Volvo XC90 R-Design logo on the
front seats, an R-Design steering wheel, watch dial instruments and Volvo
XC90 floor mats.
Volvo's trim level strategy gives customers the flexibility to add
additional features. Buyers can select the base Volvo XC90 3.2 or move up
to the Volvo XC90 Premier Plus and Volvo XC90 Platinum trim levels. The
Volvo XC90 R-Design comes in base and Volvo XC90 Platinum trims. The latter
includes the Volvo XC90 Premium Sound System with Dolby® Pro Logic® II
Surround Sound, 12 premium speakers and 650 watts, a Navigation System with
real time traffic, remote control and Map Care plus a rear park assist
Volvo XC90 Customers can add the Climate Packages to any Volvo XC90, as
well as select individual items from a list of stand-alone options. The
Climate Package includes heated front seats and an Interior Air Quality
System (IAQS). Individual options for the XC90 feature a dual screen rear
seat entertainment system, Volvo's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS),
and various hues of metallic paint.
All Volvo XC90s feature an audio streaming connection for the standard
Bluetooth. Drivers can listen to music from their compatible cell phones
via the Volvo XC90's audio system. They can create playlists using Pandora
or Grooveshark, synchronize with the phone and then play them wirelessly
using Volvo XC90 Bluetooth.
The Volvo XC90's advanced 3.2-liter in-line six-cylinder engine is a
naturally aspirated powerplant that delivers 240 horsepower and 236 lb.-ft.
of torque. It achieves performance and economy thanks to Variable Cam
Timing (VCT) and Cam Profile Switching (CPS). With Volvo XC90 CPS, the
intake valves can be lifted to different heights depending on engine revs
and load - a lower lift for economical driving and a higher one for more
Full synthetic motor oil is standard on the Volvo XC90 and all Volvo
models with a recommended Volvo XC90 service interval of 10,000 miles. Each
new Volvo XC90 comes with free, factory scheduled maintenance at 10,000

Manual and maintenance schedule for more complete information.
Volvo XC90 six-speed Geartronic automatic transmission is standard.
All-wheel drive with Instant Traction is optional on all Volvo XC90s. This
traction enhancing system employs computer-controlled Haldex Volvo XC90 AWD
that instantaneously delivers up to 50 percent more torque to the rear axle
only when needed, such as during takeoff.
As a Volvo, the XC90 upholds a legacy of safety with features including a
standard integrated center child Booster cushion for the second-row seat. All
Volvo XC90s are equipped with Roll Stability Control (RSC), Dynamic
Stability and Traction Control (DSTC); Side Impact Protection System (SIPS)
