What Camerons Car Reviews has to say about the Escalade: The Full Size Luxury SUV still has it going these days, even with sky rocketing gas prices and dismal fuel economy there is still consumers who want these dinosaurs. The Escalade is one of the mammoths in this segment and is one of the best selling ones. Power in the Escalade comes from a 6.2 L V8 mad into a 6-Speed Automatic with 4-Wheel Drive. On the interior you will find a very luxurious cabin with nice rich materials and a great amount of room up front and the rear (2nd Row Only). We love the long list of standard features the Escalade offers and we love the nice gusty V8, However with that heavy duty V8 made exclusively for the Escalade, it has very low fuel economy, however every full size SUV has dismal fuel economy. Compared to the Escalade's competitors the Navigator is too pricey and doesn't offer the features the Cadillac offers, however we really love the Infiniti QX56 and we think it's a little more inviting on the interior and has more rich materials. Is the Escalde worth purchasing now? Well it depends if you really love the Escalade and you're a Cadillac enthusiast and you need a Escalade soon. However otherwise the 2013 Escalade can wait as the next generation will be coming out less than you can run to your nearest grocery store.

Cadillac Introduces CUE: New, Easy-to-Use Industry-First Control and Command Technologies for Information & Entertainment
With the introduction of CUE - Cadillac User Experience - Cadillac is taking the lead in "user friendly" automotive technology. CUE merges intuitive design with industry-first controls and commands for information and entertainment data.
Beginning in 2012 in the Cadillac XTS, ATS, and SRX crossover, CUE will be unique to each consumer as it pairs data from up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, USBs, SD cards, and MP3 players.
CUE: Safe, Simple and Sophisticated Information Integration for Simple to Super Users!
CUE will appeal to both tech-savvy drivers and tech-novices alike with safe, connected driving by way of a system which utilizes natural voice recognition, fewer buttons, larger icons, an uncluttered screen layout, greater options for customization, and more. For example, most of today's luxury cars have approximately 20 buttons controlling the radio and entertainment functions: CUE reduces that number to just 4 buttons!
CUE allows drivers to safely store such mobile devices as a smart phone or iPod - and channel the information on those devices, along with navigation tools, weather maps with Doppler radar, AM/FM radio, instant messages, and emails through a central portal in the vehicle - allowing the driver to keep their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
8 Inch LCD Screen: Elegant In-Vehicle Hub Resembles Smart Phone
The "heart" of CUE is the 8-inch LCD touch screen which is seamlessly integrated into the top of the central instrument panel and a motorized, fully capacitive faceplate at the bottom which conceals a 1.8L storage area. The LCD screen displays CUE's homepage - which resembles a smart phone
screen by using large, easy-to-target icons to execute commands.
CUE's LCD screen features the driver's five most frequently used functions stored along the top of the screen. Along the bottom, users can select up to 60 favorites from music to points of interest, addresses, weather/direction maps, phone numbers and system commands.
The steering wheel contains a five-way controller on the right side to navigate the cluster display, a volume control and buttons to cycle through favorites. The five-way controller on the left side manages cruise control functions, voice recognition, and phone hang-up. CUE's customization and control features are further enhanced through OnStar's suite of safety, security, and connectivity services.
CUE Auto Industry Firsts
The longer a driver owns their Cadillac with CUE, the more the CUE will do for the driver as the system is able to be updated - which is an industry first. Among the additional CUE auto industry firsts include:
● Proximity Sensing: As users hand approaches the LCD screen, command icons (which can be arranged and customized by the user) appear.
● Haptic Feedback: Faceplate buttons "pulse" when pressed to acknowledge drivers commands - keeps driver's eyes on the road.
● Natural Speech Recognition: Drivers can speak "logically" with fewer specific commands to recall stored media or input navigation destinations. Text-to-Speech feature allows drivers to receive text messages by system voice and to send recorded text messages in return.
● Multi-Touch Hand Gestures: Interactive motions - tap, flick, swipe, spread - popularized by smart phones and tablets allow tasks on the LCD screen, such as scrolling lists, zooming maps, and searching favorites easily accomplished.
● 12.3 Inch LCD Reconfigurable Gauge (on select models): Offers four selectable displays - simple, enhanced, balanced, and performance - that can mix traditional vehicle data (speedometer, fuel gauge) with navigation, entertainment, and 3D vehicle image.
● Linux Operating System: Efficient hardware setup offers 3.5 times more processing power that current infotainment systems.

The 2012 Cadillac Escalade is powered by a powerful 6.2 liter V-8 engine that produces 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft. of torque. The Escalade's transmission is a 6-speed automatic that is very responsive and great for towing. The Escalade also comes with either a RWD or AWD drivetrain. Fuel economy for the 4x2 model is 14 MPG in the city and 18 MPG on the highway thanks to Active Fuel Management which essentially turns the Escalade V-8 into a 4-cylinder engine at low operating loads. The suspension features Magnetic Ride Control Shocks that sense changes in the road and make adjustments every few milliseconds. This technology allows the shocks to dampen almost instantaneously providing a comfortable ride.
The Escalade has always been known to have the latest and greatest technology available from Cadillac. Some great features found on the 2012 model include: Blind Zone Alert, Touch-Screen Navigation, Bose surround sound, and more. There is DVD entertainment for the rear passengers. Leather seating and surfaces along with high end wood trim pieces are prevalent in the 2012 Cadillac Escalade. And now the Escalade also features cool LED headlights and taillights.
