2000hp Wheelie King Shelby GT500 - Evolution Performance
This Evolution performance built GT500 was most definitely one of the
highlights of the weekend as it pulled wheelie after wheelie. When the 2000
beast owned by Brian Devilbiss kept the front wheels down, the Devil's
Reject was able to reel in some impressive passes as well.

1966 Shelby GT 350
At the 1965 New York International Auto Show I met Carroll Shelby. He had a
small space where he was displaying the new GT 350, The Sunbeam Tiger, and
a GT40. I was 14 and very independent. I knew of Carroll Shelby from my
father and I introduced myself to him at the show. He said he remembered my
father well and was wondering If I was going to follow dads footsteps in
racing. In spite of the demands on him he took his time giving me a
personal tour of the three cars he was involved in. As I was leaving He
gave me a poster of the GT350 that was a reprint of the April 1965 add that
ran in Competition Press and Autoweek. I still have the poster, and even
though I have known Carroll and worked for him and had him as a neighbor in
Lake Tahoe, I never asked him to sign the poster. In my mind it is a
cultural thing and I have had it since before he became a major celebrity
and my children will inherit it just as I have enjoyed it all these years.
The Poster is Black and white and at the top is a 3/4 rear view photo of a
65 white 350. Just Below in very large bold print spanning the full width
of the photo in blue Capital Letters G.T. 350 The add reads as Follows

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost: SVO Reborn? - Ignition Ep. 117
On this episode of Ignition, presented by Universal Technical Institute,
Carlos Lago drives the first turbo,
four-cylinder Mustang in
three decades: the EcoBoost.
Featuring 310 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, this Mustang should easily outpace the V-6
and, with half the cylinders, it also boasts less weight over the front end
than the GT. Add in a performance package and – finally – independent
rear suspension, and this Mustang should prove a lot of fun.
Through Motor Trend’s instrumented testing, a visit to Universal
Technical Institute’s Dyno, a drive on the road, and a
Hot Lap, we’ll find out if the EcoBoost has what it takes. Stay tuned for more
on the GT.
Ignition appears every other Monday on the Motor Trend youtube channel.
