Drift Camaro - How To Enjoy a Blown Big Block Chev!
Half burnout - half drift session, this awesome display shows how much fun a blown big block Camaro can be. Peter Gray is the pilot and he's not shy in throwing the black beast around the old Springnats skid pan.
Scotty's Garage 2012 - Crashes, Fires, Bangs & Close Calls
Grab and beer and set the footage on 720P HD for the best look at 2012's crashes, fires, engine, explosions, and near misses. We've got footage from Summernats, Springnats, Avalon, Sydney Dragway and more.
KILLA-B Camaro Hits the Burnout
It's been one of the most high anticipated burnout cars in recent year. Steve Nogas and his KILLA-B Camaro hit the pad at Springnats 2012. With 632 cubes up front under an insanely huge 16/71 blower, it's got way more power than it needs.
This is footage of his Sunday burnout. If you're wondering about the damage to the front quarter, he gave the wall a solid tap on Saturday.
Going Mentle - Extremely Close Call
Mentle at Easternats. This Camaro is Mentle by name and Mental by nature. Milan Dokic almost lost it big time during this go to whoa run at Easternats a few years back. Luckily he kept it off the wall and delivered a smoking victory donut to celebrate.
1000HP Ratrod Pick-up Fries the Tyres And Transmission
It's been a while since we've seen Denis Maloney's RatRod Dodge puick-up at a competition and that's because it was getting this new beast of an engine. Denis has just fitted this 1000hp+ 410ci Chrysler small block, complete with methanol injection. It's a crazy beast and more than a little scary. Halfway through the burnout you could tell the auto wasn't really happy and the back wheels weren't spinning they way they should have been, then the flames started and while I haven't confirmed this, I wouldn't be surprised if it was trans fluid causing the fire. Hopefully he'll get it all sorted soon.
GM671 - Summernats Burnout Third Place
I've had nothing but trouble posting this video so I hope you all enjoy it.
After dropping a valve in his Mustang Gary Myers put all his efforts into the Summernats Burnout Comp with the XA Coupe. He almost got there too ad showed that yuou don't need a blower to get on the podium.
BEST. POWERSKID. EVER.
I've seen some crazy powerskid action in my time but this Torana takes the cake. With a big hit of Nitrous and a heavy right foot this guy smokes the full length of the track in and aesome display of skill and power.
If you've got a better powerskid then send me a video response.
Jet Powered Van Fires Things Up
Crank up the volume for this one. This jet powered van not only puts on a good fire show but it also hauls arse down the track at Heathcote. Unfortunately there was no time recorded but it looks pretty damn fast.
Crazy Camaro Burnout
I filmed this Camaro at Melbourne's Easternats a few years back. One of the most awesome burnouts I've ever seen. Turn the volume up for this one.
And don't forget to rate it.
BLNUTE - Gazzanats 2011
Gareth Kerr shows us once again why his one to watch in the burnout scene, he's got the moves, he just needs a bit of luck on his side to win.
Awsome wheelstand - Black RX7
Check out the wild wheelstand from this black RX7 at WSID. Awesome! Therte's two different wheelstands, make sure you watch both.
UCSMOKE Attempts the Corkscrew
I'm sure there's some cones in there somewhere in amongst that smoke, but Steven Loader doesn't seem to care. He obliterates the course with his supercharged Holden Premier before limping off with one blown back tyre.
MRBADQ Gets Toasty At Summer Skidfest
We first saw Ross Heasley's MRBADQ at Valvoline Springnats this year and it was out again for the Summer Skidfest at Heathcote Raceway. Running a 6/71 blown 350 Chev, the HQ Holden Coupe makes around 613hp at the flywheel and runs on pump gas. That didn't stop it from having a little flame pop moment on the pad at Heathcote though. Usually it's the methanol cars that spew the flames out the back. Nice little skid.
SUBTLE Wins Pro Street Blown at the Street Machine Nationals
It may be SUBTLE by name but Jeremy Callaghan's twin turbo Torana is anything but subtle. Even though it's not the quickest car in the class the Torana swept all before it during the Chicago Shootout in Pro Street Blown at the Street Machine Nationals and then defeeated the Perko Torana in the finals. A solid win from a very cool looking car
Sleeper Civic - Don't mess with this little beast!
More info added: This footage is of a 1/4 mile run, not an 1/8 mile as some wankers are saying.
For the record this is in full street trim with full interior and is on 175/60/13 street tyres. It has the original 1975 EB 1200 block albeit with a 1300 crank and oversize pistons. It does run a custom sized GT28 turbo, motec, forged pistons, and some significant head work. The gearbox is stock with an open dif. Stock motor was 37hp atw at this stage it was 253hp atw. Angus has since fitted forged roads, custom gearbox, lsd. Last I heard it ran a 12.1 back in 2005. It was the fastest fwd in full street trim in Aus at one stage.
******************
This car used to crack me up when I was racing regularly in Sydney. I thought my 11sec V6 Commodore was a sleeper but this Civic was such an understated car that no-one would have guessed it was such a little weapon. Imagine getting your doors blown off by this little thing? Pretty embarrassing.
