Drag race: BMW X5 M50d versus Range Rover Sport Supercharged V8
In a clash that just ten years ago would have seemed impossible or just
downright silly, we lined up BMW's most powerful diesel SUV against the new
Range Rover Sport, which uses an engine shared with the Jaguar F-Type to
develop an incredible 375kW (502hp).
Both manufacturers claim their cars accelerate from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in
the same time, so we honestly had no idea which car would win over the
quarter mile drag race.
What we did know is that one of these cars would have a bit more fuel in
the tank at the end of the day.

2008 BMW X5 4.8i Jet Black
TThe letter "x" may be at the bottom of the alphabet, but the X5 is at top
of BMW's sales as one of the best vehicles of its kind around. There are
many reasons people love the X5, and once you sit in yours, you wont need
to have anyone spell them out for you. Your new Jet Black 2008 BMW X5 4.8i
with Premium Package, Tech Package, Sport Package, Rear Entertainment,
Heated and Cooled Seats, Aerodynamic Kit, and Third Row will leave you
breathless. It has several upgrades making it one of the most comfortable
and nicest cars on the road! This great car has been treated well and is
ready for you to take the wheel. While many other SUVs may have a few nice
features in one area but are completely lacking in others, your new X5 4.8i
is fully equipped and above the rest in every possible category. This
vehicle has almost every option available from the factory. This is a one
owner Carfax certified vehicle from beauitful sunny south Florida with no
accident damage. There's so much more to love about this sport activity
vehicle so let's take a closer look at your new 2008 BMW X5 4.8i.
EXTERIOR: The exterior JET BLACK paint is in extraordinary shape, and makes
the X5 look like it could pass for a new. Your friends will be amazed at
not only the beauty of your vehicle, but also the amount of money you
saved! Just take a look at the shapely curves. Thanks to the sport package,
upgraded 20" Y-Spoke alloy wheels outfit the car for a very sporty look.
Take a look at the front and back of the vehicle. The $1,200 Aerodynamic
Kit provides a unique and even more aggressive look. It will make the X5
stand out from even other sport package vehicles. You'll also appreciate
that the wheels are wrapped in Dunlop Runflat tires in good condition. With
a 4.8 liter V8 xDrive All-Wheel Drive engine, the X5 has great power to get
you up and moving. Thanks to its 350 horsepower engine with 350
lb-ft of torque, you'll never be at a loss for power. Adding a cool look
and helping keep you visible and seeing well during the darkest nights are
xenon adaptive automatic headlights with dynamic auto-leveling.
Additionally, halogen fog lamps will provide help in even the worst
weather. For even more protection against the elements, your power heated
mirrors will eliminate distracting and troublesome condensation, the
rain-sensing windshield wipers will automatically turn on when the clouds
let loose, and your xDrive all-wheel drive will give you maneuverability
even if road conditions get bad. There are also running boards to help make
your ascent and descent easier. You'll love the BMW no-cost maintenance
that comes as part of the active 4-year/50,000 mile bumper-to-bumper
warranty good until April 2012.
INTERIOR: The interior is outfitted in BLACK leather and upholstery and is
in superb condition. The clean black interior is the perfect compliment to
the sharp black exterior. This outstanding BMW smells clean and fresh and
there are no unpleasant odors, whether from smoke or anything else.
Accenting the leather is beautiful high gloss dark wood trim that flows
throughout the vehicle. Your comfortable power sport front seats are in
very nice condition, as are the rear seats, matching carpet and upholstery.
The sport package power front seats are 20-way power adjustable for optimal
comfort and support. The front perforated seats are heated and cooled so
you can stay warm on those colder days and be cool when the temperature
gets hot. Did we mention this great X5 also has a third row? The row can be
folded down for additional trunk space or popped up for additional seating!
The leather extends to the power tilt/telescopic steering wheel which
features controls for audio and cruise control. The wheel is also heated!
Just above the wheel at the windshield you will see a wonderfully
convenient reflection: the Head-Up Display. It will allow you to see your
speed, cruise control, and other information without ever having to take
your eyes off the road. Take a look at the shifter. Just below it you'll
see the sport button that allows you to switch the car into sport mode for
even more aggressive handling and performance. The in-dash iDrive system
features navigation to get you where you need to go so there will be no
more need for Google Maps! The iDrive system also gives you easy access to
the climate and entertainment. Let's talk about the upgraded premium sound
system. It features High Definition AM/FM/Satellite radio with CD player,
six-disc DVD changer, auxiliary audio input, USB port (for iPod
integration), all pumping through 12 speakers with two subwoofers. When you
shift into reverse, the back up camera and parking sensors will come up on
the screen so you can have a great view of behind you for bump-free
reversing and parking.

2014 / 2015 BMW X5 Detailed Review and Road Test
Check out my other videos! http://vid.io/xqoB
Who is Alex? Find out here! http://vid.io/xqoF
For 2014 BMW took their successful three row crossover back to the cosmetic
surgeon for a face lift inside and out. The same three engine options as
2013 return for the 2014 model year and we expect a tweaked version of the
M5''s twin-turbo V8 to make a cameo for
the 2015 BMW X5M.
While the engine lineup remains the same, power is up slightly in the V8
model to 445 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of
torque. The 3.0L diesel model makes a return for 2014 as the slower but
more efficient option.
If you're shopping the X5, you should also put the Mercedes ML and perhaps
even the Jeep Grand Cherokee on your short list. The Acura MDX SH-AWD
compares well to the 3.0L turbo model,
but the Japanese competitor is easily outclassed by the X5's V8.
