KRP Drag Test
This should get some people's blood pumping...Gerald Ing, long-time supporter of Build The Track!, came out and did some 60-Ft tests on the existing asphalt at KRP. This is a VERY short clip of one of the launches. We wanted to see how the ground would hold up, and how much rocks would be thrown around. He wanted to test for Maui so it was a win-win. It was the first drag race car ever launched at KRP. I'm sure it won't be the last if we get our way. The surface is extremely rough, wide enough for only one car at a time, but it's doable for testing and possible burnout competitions at the moment. Please keep in mind that this was only for a 60-foot comp test and to see whether it's even a credible idea. Gerald also generously donated to the "Asphalt Fund" for KRP. We're trying to support everyone, and we're working with what we have, so please show us some love as we work towards getting EVERYONE racing again! Mahalo!





Mark Sheehan's Nitro Funny Car test day 23.12.2007
This is Mark Sheehan's Nitro Funny Car licensing debut taken on the 23rd December at the Perth Motorplex. On the car's first 60-foot shut-off launch, all went well with an impressive .94 short time on the sizzling hot 120-degree track. On the second launch for the day (which was meant to be a 330 foot shut-off) the head gaskets blew, and so the team packed up for the day. The car has a Victory chassis, and was originally built for John Force as a spare chassis for his team, but was never used. When the Sheehan team acquired this chassis, it was used and built as a small block Alcohol Altered, and ran as quick as 5.69 seconds on both sides of Australia. The Victory chassis was then reworked, and a great deal of effort was put into building the parts and components that were required to convert the car onto nitro, which was all done locally in Perth by the many people who helped bring the dream together to make it the reality which it is today. When the Sheehan team made the switch over onto nitromethane with the chassis, it was mated up with an ex John Force 2003 Castrol Syntec Mustang Funny Car body, which was used by Tony Pedregon to win the 2003 NHRA World Championship. The main engine components on the car were purchased from Bill Miller in America including engine blocks, cranks and manifolds, while the cylinder heads and the rest of the other parts came from the John Force Racing stables. The engine combination will produce between 7000 and 8000 horsepower once it is all sorted, and should be capable of propelling Sheehan to 4-second ET's at over 300 mph. Mark and Sharon would like to thank all of the people and sponsors who have been involved with helping the car to get in it's first laps including Red Line Oil, Dimoff Transmissions, Beau's Haulage, WA Racecar Fibreglass, Rory Taylor from Speed Torque, Ian Jenkins from JPP, Jay Upton, Bill Miller, the Perth Motorplex, and of course all of the happy crew. Future licensing procedures for the team are now planned for January 2008.





Super car driver idiots [NO pics, only videos]
I got bored with all the "super car crashes"-videos here on YouTube that only contained PICTURES, CRAPPY MUSIC or/and clips of pure racing cars on official racing events. This compilation DOES NOT include pure racing cars on official racing events - only real life FAILures on the STREETS, made by people with more money than driving skills... (Though, even the best car drivers can crash too of course.) Notice 1: The "Dodge Ram" may not be a super car, but still it's a SRT10 with the 8.3L Viper V10 which produces 510hp. Pretty super for a pick up, don't you think? It has more power than several of the cars in this video. The intention with this video was to show that skills doesn't come with money. Notice 2: Tire is the preferred spelling in the U.S. and Canada. Tyre is preferred in most varieties of English outside North America. And I'm from Sweden. So please think outside your box (country), you who claims "tyre" is incorrect spelling.
