2011 IZOD IndyCar Series - Indianapolis 500 [Full race]
The winner of this race, Dan Wheldon, was involved in the huge 15 car crash at Las Vegas motor speedway on October 16th, which caused him to get airborne and fly into the catch fence, with the cockpit area taking most of the impact. He was taken to a hospital, where medicals attempted to save his life. But he was later ultimately pronounced dead in the hospital. He passed away from severe internal injuries and it was impossible to save his life. The drivers that managed to avoid the crash remained at the speedway later arranged a 5 lap tribute drive to honour the death of Dan. Rest in Peace, it's a sad day for the racing world.
