How long will an Engine run without oil?
I recently found this dusty VHS tape of a test I did for an Engine Oil Additive company. In the early 90's, I tested this friction reducing additive. The product was actually pretty good but the company is not around any more. I had to edit it this way because some scenes showed/named the place that allowed me to perform the test & donated the car. We ran the product in the engine for a 1/2 hour, then drained it & ran it without oil. We actually placed bets on how long it would run.... times ran from 10 to 51 min. The engine ran the full 51min at about 1000-1500 rpm. Since the the last time on the betting chart was met, we then revved the P*** out of it till it went up in smoke. 56 min of total run time & the last 5 were at high revs. She put up one hell of a fight!!! **** obviously DO NOT run any engine for any amount of time with out oil ****
