New Alfa Romeo Disco Volante V8 AMAZING Sound!
I have filmed at the 2013 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este the first model
built of the Disco Volante, which is based on the Alfa Romeo 8C
Competizione and utilizes the same 4.7 liter V8 engine.
In this video you can hear its amazing sound with lots of loud revs!

Compare it! Alfa Romeo Spider vs. BMW Z4 | drive it
These are two of the most extravagant 2-seater sports cars around. Elegant
and exceptional in design. We're talking about the Alfa Romeo Spider and
the BMW Z4. Both have an ice-cold air about them. Speed should be the
deciding factor, but which top opens quicker and which car has more storage
space? Drive It! puts both cars through their paces.
Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept + Bertone Mantide - Big Boys Toys 2013!!
On 1st February I attended a show called Big Boys Toys that was held at
Atlantis, Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. This show is the region's premier
lifestyle event, featuring the greatest, fastest, sleekest, most unique and
luxurious products from an amazing line up of the world's most renowned
manufacturers of luxury lifestyle products. Over here I have filmed two of
the most exclusive cars on the planet; first white one is called the
Pandion Concept which was designed as a tribute to Alfa Romeo's one hundred
year anniversary. It costs around $15,000,000 and won't go into production.
The most eye catching feature of the car is its doors, they open by
rotating backwards, and opening full 90 degree upward, the whole side of
the car is one door from the front fender to the rear fender. The other one
in the red is called the Mantide which is a design study based on the
Corvette ZR1. Italian design house Bertone will only make 10 of these, at a
price of $2,000,000 each. Video shows a full walkaround of these beauties,

Alfa Romeo 6C
Alfa Romeo 6C, concept
Looking closely at the concepts on display at this past March's Geneva auto
show, you may have noticed a certain ultra-sexy Alfa Romeo coupe design
presented by a student from the Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin, or
IED, in the hometown of Fiat. This design by Alexander Imnadze nonchalantly
bore the name "Alfa 6C Concept Coupé" and it seems that some inside Fiat
have taken a shine to it, as we understand this design previews the
foundation of a 6C range that will include a coupe and a sedan. (Keep in
mind, however, that this is a student-submitted design of a project in its
infancy; don't expect the first 6C to look exactly like this rendering.)
While it is Sergio Marchionne's dream to have a fully fleshed-out lineup
for Alfa Romeo, we're hearing that the mid-size 6C—ominously referred to
internally as the 169—is Fiat Group's priority at the moment. A large
portion of the billions approved by Marchionne for investment in both
Maserati and Alfa Romeo will be aimed at reinventing Italian-style sales
power in the executive premium class where the 6C products will compete.
With the recent unveiling of the Maserati Ghibli, Fiat begins a long
chapter in larger premium models for both Maserati and Alfa. The chassis
beneath the Ghibli, in fact, unsurprisingly will be the basis for all
things Alfa 6C. But the differences between the Ghibli story and that of
the hugely important 6C are rather large. For starters, the Ghibli is aimed
at luxury buyers much moreso than those after sportiness, while the 6C
group is trying to one-up the sporting reputation of BMW's 5-series and
6-series Grand Coupe, not to mention any models of the vast Volkswagen
Group. (Marchionne really would like to see Alfa Romeo stick it to the
likes of Audi, especially following this past year's series of awkward
exchanges between VW Group bosses and Marchionne, and also on account of
Marchionne's refusal to sell the brand to the VW Group.)
There will be a very sensually designed four-door sedan version of the 6C,
plus a stunning two-door coupe, as insinuated heavily by the 6C Concept
Coupé design already mentioned. Once the four-door arrives in 2015 as a
2016 model, the Fiat Group has set a sales goal of a very ambitious 40,000
units per year.
To pump up the brand's emphatic return to rear-wheel-drive cars—as well
as rear-biased all-wheel-drive platforms—the Alfa 6C family will have
decidedly widened track widths as compared to any Ghibli treatment. The
overwhelming majority of front-wheel-drive, mid-size Alfas of recent memory
have been rather disappointing in their athletic aspirations. This
shouldn't be hard to improve upon, but the 6C needs to be a home run if it
is to take a serious fight to the Germans, rather than becoming another
piece of static furniture in Fiat-Chrysler dealerships.
To that end, both dampers and springs will be made more rigid versus the
Ghibli, but also the shifting of gears will not be left to the likes of the
highly capable but rather soft ZF eight-speed torque-converter automatic
employed by Maserati. Alfa is opting for a version of the dual-clutch
automatic used by recent Ferraris, so the interface should be decidedly
Regarding engines, Alfa's association with Ferrari and the powertrains on
offer sitting in Fiat-Chrysler's parts bins should make the 6C Alfa a
serious statement-maker. Lifelong Alfisti Aldo Marangoni, head of Fiat
powertrains, will take command of the Chrysler Pentastar--based,
Ferrari-massaged twin-turbo V-6 created
for both the Maserati Quattroporte and the new Ghibli, and perform various
modifications to render the mill more "Alfa-like." horsepower is said to be
410, but sources tell us that this state of tune is just the starting point
and that there are several higher-output treatments already being tested.
As is fitted in the Ghibli, a 3.0-liter V-6 turbo-diesel will be available in the 6C lineup,
with output reaching 300 horsepower—the exact
number of mountains of torque has yet to be determined. We're told there's
a very real chance that this powertrain will be offered in the U.S.Speaking
again of the benefits of having Ferrari as a step-brother, the
all-wheel-drive version of the 6C, which will launch soon after the initial
rear-drive offerings, reportedly will pluck the innovative
dual-transmission all-wheel-drive system designed by Ferrari for the FF.
The chief benefit here to the completely new mid-size Alfa would be keeping
weight in check, as Ferrari has claimed this system weighs half that of a
traditional all-wheel-drive setup.
