Driving an '09 Hyundai Genesis 4.6L V8 around the track at the Discover Hyundai Genesis Tour at FedEx Field in D.C.
The 4.6L V8 is rear wheel drive and has 375hp and 333 lb/ft of torque. It goes from 0-60 in "less than 6 seconds" and goes through the quarter mile in 14 seconds at 103mph.
Listen to the sound of that Exhaust!
Hyundai Genesis - MYCARLADY review
MYCARLADY takes the 2009 Hyundai Genesis out for a spin and gets a few
opinions for Dr. Bob and Mr. M.
Hyundai Genesis 4.6 full throttle into left turn (ESC disabled still engages)
Hyundai Genesis 4.6 does 0-60 in 5.3 seconds (Car and Driver)Trying to
break tires loose around the 2nd turn, but the ESC on the "off" position
still interferes and rear brakes are applied. That was a good 2 seconds of
foot-to-the-floor after the tire squeal from braking and couldn't unleash
the beast....ESC. Even the twin-turbo
V-12 Brabus Mercedes SL has the same issue. I'm sure it's to protect the
drivetrain. Traction control "off" is still enabled to a degree. Watch
Hyundai Genesis V8 vs 370Z
A co-worker just got his 370Z about 3 weeks ago and as we were leaving 2nd
shift we decided to run them. We both had our ESC (VDC for Nissan I
guess) off and we both spun like crazy. I think I throttled off around
140. I ADMIT DEFEAT...but Its hard to believe that a HUGE, HEAVY, BOAT
with a measly 375hp V8 actually ALMOST beat a true sports car. WOW! Ill
take that any day! His 3rd gear was STRONG but you can see that when he
hit 4th we kinda evened out a bit. I would imagine things would be
different had we both not spun...but if I left my ESC on, I would have been
dead at the light. Anywho, ENJOY!

2009 Hyundai Genesis Sedan. After entering the U.S. market with an
inexpensive subcompact car more than 20 years ago, Hyundai has continued a
climb upscale. Now the brand is taking its most ambitious step in that
direction with the introduction of the Hyundai Genesis, a luxury sedan with
the amenities of vehicles costing thousands of dollars more. Powered by
advanced V6 or V8 engines, the rear-drive Genesis is filled with upscale
amenities, including a truly amazing Lexicon 7.1 surround-sound audio
system. Though intended to compete against the likes of the Chrysler 300C,
Lexus ES 350 and Pontiac G8, the Hyundai Genesis aspires to the likes of
more expensive models like the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 vs. 2008 Lexus GS 350 | Edmunds.com
It's almost hard to write: Lexus vs. Hyundai. That's the New York Yankees
taking on the Albuquerque Isotopes — same game, different leagues. It's
pitting an exalted brand name to which millions aspire, up against the
bargain brand millions settle for. And yet despite that, putting the 2008
Lexus GS 350 up against Hyundai's audacious new 2009 Genesis 4.6 in a
luxury sedan throw-down has resulted in one of the closest finishes ever in
an Inside Line heads-up comparison test.
Yes, the Hyundai Genesis holds its own quite well against the Lexus GS 350
— without all that pesky prestige.
