2009 Hyundai Genesis Sedan. After entering the U.S. market with an
inexpensive subcompact car more than 20 years ago, Hyundai has continued a
climb upscale. Now the brand is taking its most ambitious step in that
direction with the introduction of the Hyundai Genesis, a luxury sedan with
the amenities of vehicles costing thousands of dollars more. Powered by
advanced V6 or V8 engines, the rear-drive Genesis is filled with upscale
amenities, including a truly amazing Lexicon 7.1 surround-sound audio
system. Though intended to compete against the likes of the Chrysler 300C,
Lexus ES 350 and Pontiac G8, the Hyundai Genesis aspires to the likes of
more expensive models like the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 vs. 2008 Lexus GS 350
CHECK OUT THE HYUNDAI VS. LEXUS SMACKDOWN:
It's almost hard to write: Lexus vs. Hyundai. That's the New York Yankees
taking on the Albuquerque Isotopes — same game, different leagues. It's
pitting an exalted brand name to which millions aspire, up against the
bargain brand millions settle for. And yet despite that, putting the 2008
Lexus GS 350 up against Hyundai's audacious new 2009 Genesis 4.6 in a
luxury sedan throw-down has resulted in one of the closest finishes ever in
an Inside Line heads-up comparison test.
Yes, the Hyundai Genesis holds its own quite well against the Lexus GS 350
— without all that pesky prestige.

2010 Hyundai Genesis Sedan
This is an old video & I plan on doing an update soon!!
This babe has a Tau 4.6L DOHC VVT V8 making a decent 385 HP while
properly paired to a 6 Speed Auto.
This is a very nice car that I wouldn't mind to own, Tho I would get it
used as resale value as you will be extremely disappointed in how quick
resale value drops in any new hyundai. Interior is quite well put overall.
There are some cheap plastics like the sides of the Center Console which
itself is quite jiggly but Hyundai went through the effort in giving it a
rubbery feel to it. Radio & climate control buttons are also cheap
feeling. Other than that, every else is pretty much soft to the touch.
Backseat is also a rather decent place to be & isn't punishing by any
means. Trunk was size was also just adequate. Overall, this version is so
much more car than the Genesis coupe can ever be.
The engine revved nicely, (Very BMW or Lexus-like). Tho I would've liked to
hear a more throaty Exhaust note. Such
a potent engine & the Exhaust was too
Any of the shortcomings that I have mentioned are so insignificant and
shouldn't be considered a deal-breaker.

2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0L R-spec (Most Powerful V8 By Hyundai)
NEW 5.0 R-SPEC: MOST POWERFUL HYUNDAI V8 ENGINE EVER!!
The heart of the Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec model is a new Tau V8 engine
producing 429 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and
376 lb. ft. of torque at 5,000 rpm. This new Tau V8 represents the most
powerful Hyundai engine ever, with a higher specific output (85.8 hp/liter)
than its normally-aspirated premium luxury competitors. For 2011, the Tau
V8 engine family has again been named to the prestigious Ward's Ten Best
Engines for the third consecutive time
The 5.0-liter cylinder bore was increased from 92 mm to 96 mm over the
4.6-liter bore for a total displacement of 5.0 liters (5,038cc). In
addition to the enlarged displacement, direct injection technology has been
added. This high-pressure direct injection system (over 2200 psi),
dramatically increases power and torque while reducing fuel consumption and
emissions. Compression ratio has been increased from 10.4 to 11.5:1 for
greater thermal efficiency and output. The Tau also receives a revised bed
plate for improved block rigidity and lower NVH as well as camshaft
carriers and a roller timing chain to improve valvetrain stability.
