Drag race: McLaren MP4-12C - Ferrari 458 - Porsche 997 Turbo
Here's an interesting drag race between the McLaren MP4-12C, Ferrari 458 Italia and Porsche 911 turbo. Hardly a definitive result, however, interesting to watch nonetheless. Most likely shot during the recent MP4-12C media event in Portimao, Portugal.
Just yesterday McLaren finally divulged the MP4-12C's specifications. With a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a total of 600 PS (441 kW / 592 bhp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque, the MP4-12C does the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.3 seconds (3.1 with special Corsa tires) and has a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) comes in at 9.1 seconds, 8.9 with the Corsa racing tires.

In the end of the video the guy says: "This is a trackday car. Doesn't make sense do 0-200-0 between two traffic lights".

O cara comenta no final do vídeo que tanto a Scuderia quanto a LP560 são carros feitos pra andar em pistas e que não faz sentido dar 200km/h entre duas sinaleiras. Ops, acho que fiz isso. Duas vezes!
Why I love a V8
Torque is so much fun. To put this in perspective let me give you some horsepower numbers. At 3000rpm I am only making about 165whp. and at 4000rpm I am making about about 235whp. Not a big amount of horsepower. But at those same RPM's my V8 is making 290 tq and at 4000rpm I am making my peak tq of 310. So while my hp is down my car still accelerates fairly briskly. God I love a V8.
