Jerico DR4 on the street...Video 1
This is my 600 horsepower mid 10 second Monte Carlo on the street with a non syncronized Jerico DR4 4 speed transmission. No clutch used for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear shifts. The video also shows a downshift from 4th to 3rd with no clutch(done as the final car passes me and before I get on it). The upshifts and downshifts are all done by matching rpms without the use of the clutch. For upshifts as you let off the gas just pull into neutral and let the rpms drop about 800-1000...then put in next gear. For downshifts say from 4th to 3rd just push into nuetral as you let off gas, raise 800-1000rpms and push into 3rd. I just wanted to put this video out there for people wondering how a Jerico works out on the street . It took me a long time to figure out the best way to drive the Jerico on the street and with some practice I now can do it with little to no clash or noise. This is with careful driving and slow shifting though. I have a couple other videos that show a bit faster shifting but still just tooling around town. The only time I get some clanks is when I take a slow corner and snatch it into second(I do use the clutch for this), and occasionally when I put it into 1st at a light. Hope this helps some of you street/strip manual trans guys thinking of going with a Jerico. And this transmission does have the "road race" sliders in it, many people think that means it is syncronized..it is not. The road race sliders have squared off slider faceplate lugs and the drag race sliders have ramped faceplate lugs. Being squared off means there is a nice flat surface on the coast side of the slider faceplate lugs which is where the contact is during a downshift. Unless you see pics of the inside of a Jerico this will be hard to grasp. Basically if you are going to street drive you want the road race slider...and it will still powershift perfectly at the dragstrip.

#512 '67 Road Race Mustang | SAAC Mini-Nats 28 Vintage Race | Sears Point
My 1967 Fastback Mustang during the Nor-Cal Shelby Club Vintage Race. So much fun!!! Recorded with two GoPro Hero cameras (Hero2 in the car and older Hero outside). The outside camera was stuck to the bodywork with the 3M sticky pads that come standard with the GoPro cameras! Unfortunately the outside camera ran out of disc space, so the last bit of the race reverts back to the in car camera. There are a few more still pictures of the car at the end of the video.
