This is a video of Perry passing 40 cars in 30 minutes. Perry qualifying time was DQ'ed due to excess noise and he had to start at the back of the pack. This is a cut down version of passing to fit on Youtube. The race was held on March 29th at Infineon Raceway and Perry is driving a "D" Sports Racer. Thanks to GoPro for the great camera. Perry will be racing in the Volkswagen Jetta TDI series in 2009.

Harris Hill Road - Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition
This is a hot afternoon run, about 102 degrees Fahrenheit, in a stock Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition. The only change from the way it was delivered is the tires. I took the all season tires off and put on a set of Toyo R1R tires. If you don't like road noise, don't get them. If you like to feel the road and have amazing grip, get them. They're not as sticky as the RA-1 or the R888, but getting close. This lap was 1:41.6 with the tires at 40 psi (hot). I could probably pull another tenth if I drop them down to 38. I was playing with the reverse (CCW) direction line up the hill trying to see if holding right would ultimately be faster than letting the car slide out to the left side. For those familiar with the course, it's the approach up the hill to T4, then down the hill to T3. The jury is still out, but appearances are that this line is about 1.2 seconds quicker in this car. The exterior look has remained pretty much unchanged, but they have remodeled the interior from previous years. New steering wheel, radio, lighting, guages, climate controls, and trimming. Other noted features include the leatherette interior, folding rear seat w/ armrest/passthrough, power inverter, lip spoiler, and steering-mounted controls. The TDI engine uses common-rail technology now making it 2.0L with 140hp and 236ft-lbs of torque.

2005.5 volkswagen jetta tdi, 6 speed dsg in sport mode. I did this going up a steep hill to try and see if the intake gave me any more power. stocks: 22.61 seconds k&n: 21.70 seconds I believe it did give me more power, but it isn't really noticeable. However, on a 50 mile loop with the cruise control set, I saw about 1 mpg increase. The biggest difference I've noticed with the k&n is how much more audible the turbo is now...... very cool.
