Ford Explorer Timing Chain Tensioner Replacement (Part 1)
Replacing the passenger side timing chain tensioner on a 4.0 SOHC engine to
resolve a rattle on cold starts and cold idle. Easy job, about 15 minutes
and $40 in parts. The rattle you hear after startup is the the tensioner
filling with oil, and the driver side tensioner is weak too, causing a
rattle, which I will replace in the next video.

My Explorer blew up & left me sit (4.0L SOHC V6 timing chain failure)
Bought this POS for $1,000 and a day after I get it the timing chains start
making a death rattle. It was majorly doctor'd up. Got if off some idiot in
his 20's whose a dealer in the inner city...heard bad shit about the cars
he sells and didnt listen, and now i learned my lesson. I sold the truck a
few days after it blew up for $600. Took a $500 loss...the biggest bust I
have ever taken with any car I've ever sold. Sold it to some old rich
people.....I have no idea why they wanted this POS with a blown motor and
220k miles. They said they were putting a new motor in it. Whatever floats
I'm still trying to figure out why a ghost was in this truck! You can see
the orb fly around as plain as day and go into the dash!

Watch the 2015 Ford F-450 6.7L Diesel Super Duty Debut at the State Fair of Texas
( http://www.TFLtruck.com ) Ford introduced its 2015 F-Series Super Duty
lineup at the Texas State Fair and the big news is a better Power Stroke V8
turbo diesel engine. They've also beefed
up the F-450 to make it even tougher. The new Power Stroke features a
larger GT37 turbocharger that measures
72.5 millimeters in diameter versus the smaller GT32 it replaces which came
in at 64 millimeters. This means Exhaust gases have a larger surface area to spin
the turbo so you'll get extra power.

Ford Explorer spark plug fix
Ford blown spark plug repair - Time Sert review
Vehicle: 02 Ford Explorer V8 4.6L
Many Ford engines from 1997 to 2008 with Triton heads may blow out a spark
plug. Many companies have come out with a relatively inexpensive fix that
allows the Head to remain on the engine, thus saving a lot of money in
repairs. Although I have rebuilt engines in the past, I have never
repaired this kind of damage to an engine. I wanted to record whether Time
Sert's claims were as easy as they proclaimed. The answer for me was
The only criticism was that I had no objective idea how much counterboring
I needed to do. With the engine that I had, a Lot of counterboring needed
to be done and I thought I had gone too far at one point simply due to the
amount of time spent with this operation. I have done a second repair and
decided to only use a hand ratchet on the counterbore. It took two hours
to counterbore alone. I recommend an air ratchet for this reason.
Bottom line is that this works; It's relatively inexpensive; and I was
overall happy with the product. As well, I can now replace more threads
without buying anything more since it came with 5 inserts.
