My Explorer blew up & left me sit (4.0L SOHC V6 timing chain failure)
Bought this POS for $1,000 and a day after I get it the timing chains start
making a death rattle. It was majorly doctor'd up. Got if off some idiot in
his 20's whose a dealer in the inner city...heard bad shit about the cars
he sells and didnt listen, and now i learned my lesson. I sold the truck a
few days after it blew up for $600. Took a $500 loss...the biggest bust I
have ever taken with any car I've ever sold. Sold it to some old rich
people.....I have no idea why they wanted this POS with a blown motor and
220k miles. They said they were putting a new motor in it. Whatever floats
I'm still trying to figure out why a ghost was in this truck! You can see
the orb fly around as plain as day and go into the dash!
Ford Explorer Timing Chain Tensioner Replacement (Part 1)
Replacing the passenger side timing chain tensioner on a 4.0 SOHC engine to
resolve a rattle on cold starts and cold idle. Easy job, about 15 minutes
and $40 in parts. The rattle you hear after startup is the the tensioner
filling with oil, and the driver side tensioner is weak too, causing a
rattle, which I will replace in the next video.

Bearing Making Noise? Fix it Before This Happens!
Thanks for watching. Please comment, rate, subscribe, and check out my
channel for automotive repair how-to videos. This is video of a Ford
Explorer / Mercury Mountaineer that lost a wheel on the interstate. The
vehicle had to be making some serious noise for a long time before the
wheel finally let go. The caliper bracket was all that was holding the
wheel on until it broke. The people in the Exploder should be glad the
thing didn't flip or hit any other cars. Next time you're riding down the
road look at the car beside you or coming towards you. This could happen
to any poorly maintained vehicle at any time. Be careful out there.
VERY BAD Ball Joints - WATCH THIS!!!
This is a car that recently came in for an oil change. We did our free 100
point inspection and found this!!! Check it out!
Ball Joints can be dangerous and should be checked often as they are a
critical part of your suspension.
