in 1989 Wayne and Rod Penrose raced at Huntley Hillclimb . Rod drove the
formula vee with the 2276 type-1 engine and Wayne drove the speedway
super-sedan powered by a 2.4litre type-1 methanol injected supercharged
engine . The super sedan was quite a handful as it was not designed to be
driven in a straight line....

Chris Bolton puts the WPVW formula vee on the Dyno for the first time with the
new WPVW prepared 2165ml turbo engine .
As the engine comes up on Boost for
the first time the Exhaust temp rises
and the heat resistant paint cannot withstand the temp and starts to smoke
. The new combination produced 175bhp @ the wheels on 15psi Boost and E85 fuel.
WPVW turbo oval on the dyno 1st tune with Pauter heads
the WPVW turbo oval is put on the Dyno at South Coast
Rotary for the first time with a new type-4 engine combo that includes a
new Scat billet crank , Pauter x-beam rods , 105.5 Chev pistons , Pauter
pro-series type-4 heads 53x41 titanium valves , chev tripple springs ,
titanium retainers , 6 stud Pauter billet 1.4 roller rockers , dual-tapered
pushrods , Garrett T-60 turbo , quad
throttle body microtec injection , E85 fuel .
This first session was a soft tune which produced 348bhp @ the wheels on
just 15psi Boost ...... cant wait to
put some more Boost into it and go
1966 Dick Landy supercharged VW Beetle
This is an 1835CC DP with the CB perf. offroad special cam. I purchased
the DLI kit complete off a running drag bug for $1500, installed it on my
engine and fired it up. I only ran it briefly since it is wicked
overdriven, (18-20PSI Boost) and I
can only run it on race fuel for $12/gal. Plus at the time I didn't have a
way to tune it so I didn't want to mess up the engine. I have no idea what
the timing and A/F are. I would estimate the HP at around 200 or so.
