March 11, 2012 Road Atlanta Miata Crash - NASA HPDE 2 group
This 2003 Miata Shinsen Edition was a brand new build by OPM Autosports in Cumming, GA. They installed cage, seat, Schroth 6 point harness, SPA AFFF 6 nozzle fire suppression system, radiator, brake lines, tow hooks and much more. They also oversaw the painting of the interior and hard top. Their workmanship is beyond reproach. It really was the coolest looking track Miata I had ever seen -- which makes this story so sad (OPM also did ride height, corner weights and alignment for Spec Miata class and provided track side support for this NASA SE event). I was in HPDE 2 group (one step above beginners).
I waited three months for the build to complete. I promised myself I would not wreck on the very first weekend I had the car back but ... I did. I hit the inside wall after T3 pretty hard. Personally, I think I went to full throttle too soon at T3. If I had just waited a few tenths longer until the right rear tire had cleared the curbing before mashing the throttle, I think I would have been ok. It's a painful lesson.

FORMULA DRIFT ROAD ATLANTA 2012
Went to the Formula Drift in Atlanta. Best thing ever!!!! I plan on going every year. Anyways heres what I caught. Didn't get the end of the races cause we had to take off a bit early.

'02 M3 Crash at VIR
Towards the end of a great HPDE at VIR Full in February 2009, i get a little tired and make a mistake in the high speed esses which results in me dropping right rear wheel off the track and loosing control, hitting a tire wall in m 2002 BMW M3 coupe. Lesson learned: Stay hydrated and focused.

Big HPDE Crash at Pocono East Course Driving School on 5/5/06
Inexperienced driver in an Evo loses control when he takes two tires off the racing surface and overcorrects. Slams into a NSX and G35 that were on pit road waiting to go out in the next session. My brother and I were the first two cars that DID NOT get hit...missed his front bumper by about 18 inches. Track officials staged cars way to close to the track and should have kept us behind the wall until after session was completed. Fortunately, no one was hurt bad. More than $60k in damage to the three cars! After the wreck happens there are a few expletives (i.e holy s**t!, holy sh**t!, holy sh**t!)...my apologies for leaving them in...couldn't figure out how to edit audio track.
