Mike took his 69 Firebird out for one last ride on August 1, 2009.
Ten days later it was shipping from New Jersey heading to Norway.
He sold it to a collector in Norway where there is a big interest in the American Muscle Car.
Long live his Firebird - Suzy Q!
1969 Pontiac Firebird 400
This is my 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 project-Plans for this car are drum to
disc brakes upgrades first! You can hear the old drums squeeking as I
brake! suspension, interior, and house of kolor candy apple red paint with
black rally stripes! Audio system and interior are already being worked on.
Also im planning to lower it 2 inches all around. Im debating on wether to
paint the wheels black or match them kandy apple red? or try to combine
both black and candy red for the rims? What do you think?
Engine is a freshly rebuilt 400 block, .060 bored, hooker headers, holley
carb, holley electric fuel pump, and dual flowmasters. For now not focusing
on the engine but I've been thinking about rebuilding a faster 400 and upgrading the automatic
transmission to a manual shift 5 speed. Not trying to build a car show
quality or a superfast car, mostly a cruiser and once in a while fun at the

1969 Pontiac Firebird 428, 400+ Horsepower - SEE OTHER VIDS!
Hey, for those who wondered about the gauge setup.....
I got them from Equus. You can probably find them at Autozone, Advance, or
O'Reilly auto parts. As you know, the standard gauges in the stock Firebird
suck. The big one on the right has the oil pressure, water temp, and
"Generator" power. Well, since I wanted an RPM guage, I found one that fit
perfect in that hole. I used Urethane to hold it in place. The Speedo Gauge
was easy to find and fit well also. You may have to cut some of the speedo
cable end off in order to fit on the back of the guage. It is the screw-in
type, and the Firebird had the clip on style.
I bought a complete set for the other guages... Oil, Water, and Battery. I
installed them into some 1/4 board material and covered with black leather
to match interior. It fit where the old A/C controls were and since I
removed the A/C there was no need for the controls. I installed a toggle
switch in the dash where the cigarette lighter was that operates the blower
fan for a heater. That way I still have defrost. If it gets hot in there,
you can buy a valve to put on the heater hoses for use during the summer.
It gets hot in the car with all that hot water running through the heater
Interior Specs: All windows except front have been tinted 20%, new black
carpet, headliner, front/rear door panels, dashpad, Carbon Fiber Leather
seats, All new after-market dash gauges, Hurst Ratchet shifter, Kenwood
5032 CD player with Sirius/XM Satellite radio, and DUB 400watt rear chrome
speakers. I covered the plastic box around the Hurst shifter the same as
the center gauge set with black leather.

1969 Pontiac Firebird
The Pontiac Firebird was built by the Pontiac division of General Motors
between 1967 and 2002. The Firebird was introduced the same year as the
automaker's platform-sharing model, the Chevrolet Camaro.
The first generation Firebirds had a characteristic Coke bottle styling.
Unlike its cousin, the Chevrolet Camaro, its bumpers were
integrated into the design of the front end and its rear "slit" taillights
were inspired by the Pontiac GTO. Both a two-door hardtop and a convertible
were offered through the 1969 model year.
The 1969 model received a major facelift with a new front end design made
of an Endura bumper housing the headlights and grilles. The instrument
panel and steering wheel were revised. The ignition switch was moved from
the dashboard to the steering column with the introduction of GM's new
locking ignition switch/steering wheel.
This beautiful Firebird runs nice and strong. It came out of Michigan and
has had a body off rebuild. The car has never been races, but is a very fun
driver that gets the looks! It has won several 1st place trophies and
awards in its class at local car shows.

1969 Pontiac Firebird Front Suspension Install Video V8TV
http://www.v8tvshow.com - 314-783-8325 - We reassembled our restored front
suspension with some new tricks to make our 1969 Pontiac Firebird "Routy"
drive and handle better. First we replaced all the stock worn-out control
arm bushings with some new Global West Del-A-Lum bushings for minimal
deflection and smooth articulation. Then we replaced all the loose
steering components with new parts from Classic Industries, including a new
steering box, tie rod ends, center link, ball joints, idler arm, and
pittman arm. Once we could put the wheels back on, we rolled the subframe
under the body, aligned it, and bolted it up. Out back, we added some
Del-A-Lum bushings to the Detroit Speed & Engineering 3" drop leaf springs
and put the rear axle assembly back in the car. Classic Industries had
more hard-to-find nuts and clips for the front leaf spring mounts. Now we
can hang all the sheetmetal back on the car and start the panel alignment!
