Steve Clukey's Wheelstanding Small Block Duster
Three passes of Steve Clukey's Duster at the Jet Cars Under the Stars race at New England Dragway August 7, 2010. Steve (Stick Man) Clukey is the original owner of this 1970 Plymouth Duster. This is a new small block 340 Stroker motor pulling 753hp on the Dyno, and he went with a Lenco 4 speed for the first time ever this year. Steve's Duster had special options for the marker lights that would become standard on the 1971 Duster. About a month ago he pulled a wiring harness out of the junkyard from a '71 Duster, and bingo...all the lights are working now! The 9.23 is the quickest the car has gone with the new combination ytd. The paint job is from Steve Cultrerra from Kittery Me, the same guy who crew chiefed for John Montecalvo's Moutain Motor Pro Stock.

Preston Herrick's "Blown" 440 Duster - Initial fire-up
Highlights from initial fire-up. Assembled another '70 440 shortblock with lower compression (8.5:1) Speed Pro forged pistons. Topped off with 6-71 Supercharger and dual 750 Edelbrocks. Waiting for electric pusher fan to arrive - no space for anything between radiator and blower drive. Can already tell this will be a different beast from the NA 440 it replaces. To see over 100 pictures of this car visit http://vanguard.dealeraccelerate.net/vehicles/1793/1971-Plymouth-Duster VIN VL29G1B455261 This car was originally from South Carolina, until it was purchased in August of 1998 by the gentleman that we purchased it from. The car started life as a solid B5 Blue Duster Twister with a 318 Automatic on the column. The car underwent a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration over the next few years (100’s of hours invested) by a Mopar expert out of NY. This is a very unique Duster with a production date of July 9, 1971, the last day of scheduled production for that model year before summer shutdown. This is probably one of the last 1971 Dusters ever built. This awesome restoration was completed in 2006 and it is a blast to drive. The original build sheet, gas cap, JVC CD changer and remote, owner’s manual and South Carolina ownership information, photographs of the restoration are included in the sale.
