Lexus IS300 exhaust - deep tone/sound
This is my 2002 Lexus IS300 (5 speed w/LSD rear end).
Since so many people are asking, I will post exactly how my Exhaust is set up in this video.
Cheap axel-back eBay muffler. I paid around 60 bucks for the muffler.
Then I went to my local Midas, and had them remove the resonator. They sawed it off, and created a piece of straight pipe and welded in it the resonator's place. The pipe is the stock 2 1/4 diameter and cost $90 for the whole job. 150 bucks got me this sound - stock Exhaust manifold w/cats, and everything else in between.
THIS IS HOW THE Exhaust IS SO PLEASE STOP ASKING :)
I can not track down the original muffler shown in this video on eBay anymore. Maybe it is not sold by whoever made it anymore? I am not sure. It was a no-name brand. Just search up "is300 axel back" on eBay. But if you are interested in the same muffler, all I can remember is that it is just a one piece chrome muffler, with a 4 inch tip and a large canister. Good luck finding it!
I have since this video turbocharged my car, and got a completely new Exhaust setup (and muffler) and the car no longer sounds like this anymore (why do N/A cars sound deeper than turbo'd cars...or is that just me?)
