#HawaiianPunch: 1972 Datsun 510 SR20 For Sale in San Diego

Its been a little over a week since we featured this 510 and I honestly
miss it. This 72 Datsun 510 SR20DET for sale was built with so much style
and care, I can’t think of a better one. Thank you to the owner Raul for
letting us film your car before you sell it.
Filming this 510 was an interesting story as well. As Luke and I were
scouting spots near Raul’s house, we stumbled upon the actual US Nissan
Design center. This is the place where they designed the 370z and the Idx
(the new 510). What luck! The employees there were so awesome to let us
shoot some footage at there loading dock and main entrance. Over the 2
hours we were there, a lot of them came out to see Raul’s car. It was
pretty cool to see how much they all admired the styling of this car. I
guess they we’re paying respect to their elder ;)
What I loved about this SR20 510 was how it was such reliable daily driver.
While it looks like a showcar/racecar Raul comfortably drives it everyday.
He drove me around in it a little and I just couldn’t stop smiling. Being
such a lightweight car, the power is strong and the turbo is consistent. Oh and that sound, the SR20
screams if you want it to but it remains humble at low speeds.
I’ll be honest, this car isn’t for everyone. It’s only for those who
“get it”. It’s for those who know what this car stands for and is
about. Words don’t really explain it, it’s just the feeling you get
when see it and experience it. The next owner of this car is going to be
very happy. --Grayson Barbou

1972 Datsun 510 Wagon // KA24DE Start Up
Marking 1 year after one of my best friend's death comes one of the most
glorious sounds I could've imagined, the start up of my 1972 Datsun 510
station wagon. The once L16 powered 510 took my friend Daniel and I on a
ride to Gambrill State Park in Frederick, Maryland one week prior to his
passing last year where, on the way home, we agreed the Datsun would
receive a KA24DE as a replacement for the stock L16 engine. It took exactly
one year to get it back on the road and despite feeling extremely sick
today, there was no better way to connect with a fallen brother than a test
drive in the car the holds nothing but memories. I only drove it for about
10 minutes for as some of you may hear, the spark plugs are causing a
misfire and the fuel pump regulator needs replacing but I cherished every
second. It will only be about 2 weeks before the car is 100% complete, but
for now, my heart is sailing on happiness.
Rest in Peace Daniel. You're always welcome for a ride.

2 hour $100.00 Rustoleum paint job on Datsun 510 wagon spray gun 北米 左ハンドル ダットサン 510ワゴン フルレストア
Check my channel out for other projects:
This was a Datsun 510 wagon that I purchased from a man who had left it in
the woods behind his shop since the early eighties. I got it running after
replacing the fuel lines, rebuilding the carb, cleaning out the gas tank,
replacing the spark plugs, changing the oil, and replacing all replaceable
parts in the brake system. I wanted to give this car a basic paint job, but
not spend a lot of money (I have another Datsun 510 wagon that I bought
from Arizona that is receiving a proper full restoration). I decided to
spray it with rustoleum. We bought 2 pints (Safety Yellow and Safety Red)
and mixed them together to make an orange. The paint was sprayed through a
cheap gun like the type you would spray a fence with because my body man
did not want to use his real gun on it. I spent about an hour of prep
sanding with a single grit of paper and cleaning / masking. I sprayed bare
rust rustoulem primer. The final product came out nice for the budget, and
the car will survive longer until someone gives it a proper restoration
because the zinc content in rustoleum slows the corrosion process
