Spoon had used blue/yellow color on their race cars for 25 years. But starting from 2012 season, they had decided to change this tradition - which means we'll never see their S2000, NSX or any other Hondas looking like this.
The car in this video is 2012 Spoon S2000 Race Car at Fuji Speedway, shot on the day the team had performed all of their pre-testing menu 2 weeks before their first race in 2012. It was the last day we can see the "traditional Spoon color" on race track.

SPOON SPORTS showroom
Famous Honda tuner, SPOON SPORTS runs a tuning shop "TYPE ONE" that is just few minutes walk away from their HQ building. TYPE ONE sells SPOON products, while also providing tuning services for Honda owners. You can buy things there, and also get it on your own car on the same day, at the same place, by people who actually developed those products.
TYPE ONE building has 2 floors - 1st floor for quick maintenance/tuning services, and 2nd floor for heavy services like engine mods or even building real race cars. Not all SPOON demo cars are kept there (they have other storage houses for that), but they always have some cars there for periodical checks, or getting ready for races, or for media appearances. You can say that TYPE ONE is a showroom for SPOON products, and at the same time, a true racing factory operated by Honda tuning specialists.
I love SPOON SPORTS because they specialize in Honda vehicles, and their products are developed and thoroughly tested on racing fields and streets before they become available to users. And they've done that ever since the foundation of the company in late 80's. SPOON is famous for race activities, but their sole intention is to develop functional products with reliability. Until they're satisfied, they'll never sell to others.
Visiting TYPE ONE is not as hard as you think... just takes some time. Half an hour on train from Tokyo Station, and 20 minutes walk from Ogikubo Station along a crowded street. The store is open everyday between 10am and 7pm, and there is a Canadian staff you can talk to in English! Credit cards are accepted.
