Dodge Shelby Charger Rally Video
We rally a 86' Shelby Charger turbo that
we bought for 5 hay bails. This is the *first gen* charger before we
jumped it, cut the roof off, removed all the windows and re-painted it. Go
to www.thirtythree.org/shelbycharger for more video and pictures.
Shelby Dodge Tribute
This is a short video dedicated to the forgotten Shelby cars and their turbocharged Mopar siblings.
The photos were taken by me at the annual SDAC convention, that was held in
Chicagoland this year.
For more information on these 80's pocket rockets head over to www.turbo-mopar.com
Note: The beginning dialogue is Shelby talking about a Supercharged
Charger; I couldn't seem to find some useable audio that pertained to the
use of the turbochargers in the numbered
cars that followed... But it still has its merits.
Thanks for watching!

These weren't just Shelby stickered up Chryslers, the GLHS series of cars
were taken to Shelbys Whittier CA skunkworks facility where the performance
was bumped up all around and limited editions were made..

1983 Dodge Shelby Charger / May 2013 update
video 2: Since purchasing this 1983 1/2 Dodge Shelby Charger in August
2012, a number of engine updates by turboMopar's 'R/T' and 'BIGBRUDDA" have resulted
in a nicely running Shelby Dodge machine. Here is a short video with a few
throttle blips to show off the new Exhaust and smooth-running carbed 2.2 liter

GLHS Shelby Charger #742 of 1000 made
I drove this car today, and let me tell you, this is one of the most
under-rated cars every made. What a blast it was winding 2nd and 3rd gear
out! Make you wonder why they only made 1000.
Dodge Shelby Charger
The Shelby Charger was a modified 1980s Dodge Charger. Carroll Shelby had
tuned the Dodge Omni-based Charger for Dodge from 19831⁄2 to 1987, with
the resulting car sold as the Dodge Shelby Charger.
1984 DODGE SHELBY CHARGER -- ANOTHER RARE SHELBY CREATION
For 1983, Carroll Shelby modified the Dodge Charger, to be sold at Dodge
dealers as the Dodge Shelby Charger. Rather than focusing on speed, Shelby
modified the suspension and styling. The engine compression was raised for
107 hp, and the manual transmission had revised ratios. Shorter springs,
special wheels, and tires complemented stronger brakes and quicker
steering. Outside, a new nose and racing stripes accented the performance
image. The body kits, among other parts, were often shipped to dealerships
along with the car to be put on after delivery. The reasoning behind this
varied, but was said to speed delivery and compensate for ground clearance
issues that the cars faced on many car carriers. Production was 8,251 for
that first year.
For 1984, the Shelby Charger could be ordered with an optional automatic
transmission. There were 7,552 Shelby Chargers sold this model year. The
high-output engine, now up to 110 hp was also available in baseline
Chargers and Turismos. The MPFI/turbocharged turbo I engine, commonly known as a 'T1' was added
for Dodge's 1985 Shelby Charger. This engine produced 146 hp and was
changed from its first appearance in the Dodge Daytona turbo during the previous year. A Garrett
AiResearch T3 turbocharger and
Chrysler/Bosch multiple-point fuel injection enabled the 2.2 L engine to
produce the additional horsepower. A total of
7,709 Shelby Chargers were made for the 1985 model year, and 7,669 in 1986.
1987 was the final year, with just 1,011 produced. How many of these
Shelby creations exist today? Most likely just several hundred of all the
years these were made. Always a pleasure to see a rare car especially in
this condition. Thanks very much for viewing this rare 1984 Dodge Shelby
Shelby Lancer Dodge Turbo 2.2
Here is a little something I made because you can't go see this all the
time unless you own one. Some shots were inspired by the brochure and I had
a LOT of fun doing this. I present an '87 Shelby Lancer, a super rare
vehicle and a blast to drive.. Enjoy!!
First Drive: 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat 707 hp
The new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is powered by the new supercharged
6.2-liter HEMI V-8 engine. Its 707 horsepower matches the
highest rating of any V-8 engine in Chrysler Group’s celebrated history.
The all-new supercharged V-8 engine is mated to the beefy new TorqueFlite
8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission.
This new Hellcat engine is Dodge and SRT’s first application of V-8 Supercharger technology, featuring a
forged-steel crankshaft with induction-hardened bearing surfaces. The
result is a crank so well-engineered it can withstand firing pressures of
110 bar (1,595 psi) – the equivalent of five family sedans standing on
each piston, every two revolutions. And its unique, specially tuned crank
damper has been tested to 13,000 rpm.
High-strength, forged-alloy pistons, developed using advanced telemetry
measurement, are coupled to powder-forged connecting rods with
high-load-capacity bushings and diamond-like-carbon-coated piston pins.
The supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 has premium-grade, heat-treated
aluminum-alloy cylinder heads, which are optimized for superior thermal
conductivity. And its die-cast aluminum rocker covers are HEMI Orange.
Standard on the Charger SRT Hellcat is the largest front-brake package ever
offered in a Chrysler Group vehicle, which were first introduced on the
2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat, featuring all-new 390-mm (15.4-inch) Brembo
two-piece rotors with six-piston calipers for outstanding heat management
and thermal capacity and longevity.
The unrivaled four-door performance numbers tell an impressive story with
the quarter mile in 11.0 seconds, 0-100-0 mph in under 13 seconds, and a
top speed of 204 mile per hour (mph).
The 2015 Charger SRT Hellcat’s restyled driver-focused interior features
premium, soft-touch materials, a new 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT)
customizable digital instrument gauge cluster and a new instrument panel
center stack with the latest generation 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen media
New for 2015, drivers can select one of the many offered backgrounds to
connect the digital look and feel with their chosen interior package. In
addition, the Charger SRT Hellcat comes standard with a premium 900 watt,
18-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system.
An all-new and class-exclusive electronic shifter with an all-new
driver-oriented T-handle provides the driver with intuitive gear selection
and offers an Auto Stick selector gate for added control.
The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be built at the Brampton (Ont.)
Assembly plant. Production is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2015.
